Nope. People are not complaining just to complain. I was very excited for it when the trailer came out cuz it has the bodyguard trope which is very rare. But i found the second leads chemistry better than the main even though they barely had much screen time. Golden blood ended up feeling so boring for me. There was nothing new to the story. Just boy needs help, boy gets a bodyguard and falls in love. Father objects, they are separated but obviously true love so they dont stop loving eachother and meet again. I get that many shows have the same tropes but i would like to see shows owning atleast something. Its usually the acting and chemistry but golden blood did not have that at all.

Yeah from what i saw in the first episode i am bery disappointed at how less of a screen time markkit got and even more annoyed at how much of wayu drama crap happened. I was quite surprised too cuz in the series, pran likes pat first or realizes his feelings first but in the book pat was the one who accepts his feelings first and it takes pran quite a while after to start liking pat romantically. their first kiss in the novel was when pat force kisses pran and pran ABSOLUTELY hates it. I am very glad they changed it up and made pat lean forward first and let pran kiss first with proper consent for the series. Everything is very different from the book so far except the parents and friends rivalry.

I am def glad I read the book first. It makes me notice so many things and appreciate everything.
For example, the starting scene for ep8 where Pran is hugging the song nao doll killed me. Because in the book, Pran hates the doll because of how dirty it is. The doll plays a bigger role in the book than it does in the series. Pat really cannot sleep without it at all. In this one chapter, Pat was out and Pran was cleaning his dorm when he notices Pat's doll and decides to wash it. Pat comes home right after Pran hangs the doll to dry and freaks out cuz it won't smell the same anymore (Pat says he didn't wash it for 10 years straight). thus starts Pat hugging Pran to sleep cuz only Pran can be a substitute to the doll or he just quite literally cannot sleep. its so cute cuz Pran works a lot overnight finishing up his assignments and pat just lays on his lap and snuggles his face into trans tummy and sleeps. Pat sulks until Pran comes beside him cuz he can't fall asleep without Pran by him so Pran ends up working on bed so pat can snuggle in and sleep while he is working. But the actual main part with the doll is that the parents find out about them after they have sex in prans room at his parents house while they were away but they come back early the next morning and see them naked in bed (ouch!). Pat took his doll the night before so when he got kicked out he didnt have a chance to grab it. they never get a chance to meet eo so the doll ends up with pran. When pran leave the country, he takes the dolls with him which killed me cuz through out the book pran always hated the doll. and when pat finds a picture of pran (tagged by Pran's cousin) later, he notices his doll in the background which gives him a little more confidence that pran still loves him and misses him.

Anyway, even though pat got engaged he never stops thinking about Pran obviously but he does try to be kind to the girl because pat is the best boy duh! later pat starts working at his dads company and there was a situation where he had to take help from Pran's dad's company. he talks to Pran's dad and the dad was impressed at how mature pat actually is. Pat's dad was obviously not happy with doing business with Pran's and they stop talking to each other. in the same argument pat screams at his dad that he is gay and can't do anything about it and pats fiancé overhears this and cancels the wedding. pat and Pran's dad keep working together and gain a lot of profit together. One day they were just casually chilling and Pat asks the dad how pran was doing and they end up talking about Pran. pat tells the dad how much Pran changed him to be a better person and that the mature pat the father is talking to is all because of Pran. Pran's dad realizes how much pat loved Pran. He suddenly gives pat Pran's address and asks Pat to visit Pran. Pat surprises Pran (it was the cutest scene ever I cried). they don't say anything to each other. Pat doesn't even confront Pran about not going with him before. All they do is hug, cry and kiss. They just know that one never stopped loving the other. Pat goes back and they are in an LDR until Pran graduates. Pran comes back. they live in their parents houses like before. Pat often slept over at Pran's and this time actually walked through the front door cuz Pran's parents started loving Pat as his own son. Pat's dad was still stuck up but seeing how successful Pat became in business he lets Pat do what he wants even if he is not happy about them. There was a chapter where Pat invites Pran for dinner and the dad was quite the whole time, Pa asks their dad about not having a ride because pat becomes a busy businessman and Pran offered to drive pa everyday to and from school. almost every night pa invited Pran for dinner after he drove her home so pat's dad slowly started getting used to Pran. Pran tells his dad that he does not want to take over his dad's company and wants to be a freelance architecture and maybe start his own business related to that. Pran's dad had a family member in the company but he trusts Pat the most now so he asks Pat to take over Pran's families company completely cuz Pran's dad wanted to retire. Pat thinks about it and ends up merging both their companies and Pat also wanted to start a sub company related to architecture for Pran to take care of. And then they lived happily ever after.
The series is great although all the scenes are very very different from the book but omg the book was so good for me. I loved reading it. I binge read it in a single sitting and reread it the next day. Patpran are one of the greatest lovers. they make my heart go warm, they always love each other through anything, if they ever had to part it will never be because of themselves because they will NEVER stop fighting for their love.
