Friends

On The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty Jan 5, 2021
*Sigh* Having read up to chapter 60+ of the novel, it was difficult for me to watch this Tang Fan behave like an overgrown toddler (and a sugar baby to Sui Zhou). Tang Fan in the novel easily smiled, had a charming personality, but people underestimated his intelligence because of this. He knew how to read people and behaved accordingly. Sui Zhou, who doesn't easily make friends, took a liking to him because of this personality. I cannot imagine Sui Zhou developing friendship with the drama version of Tang Fan. Just...*sigh* Wish all production teams could be as respectful to the original material as the team who did The Untamed.

Oh, I also skipped all the scenes where some annoying female characters (whom I don't remember being in the novel) appeared.

This drama is just so ND so..... The male lead tang fan is a but annoying..... He is intelligent but talks too…
He wasn't like this in the novel, which was what made this drama difficult for me to watch. Tang Fan was a quietly cheerful dude but very smart and calculating, which is what Sui Zhou appreciated about him. In here, he's a caricature who acts like a sugar baby.

Mm... generally agree with the comments here. The first half of S1 was more interesting, and actually having tomb…
OMG. I thought I was the only one.

The mute girl arc was so cringe-y. We've been taught at university never to conduct research on people without their permission, and there she was, filming without the villagers' consent. So unethical. And because of all the trouble they brought, the villagers get shot at repeatedly. What the heck.

Fast forwarded all the romance-related stuff. Ick.

I'm only watching this for Zhu Yilong.

I heard there are going to be two seasons of it
This is what's going to happen, most likely. Because the animation is already 130+ episodes and it's all still about Tang San.

Title The Wolf
This drama totally romanticizes abuse. ML is horrible to the FL pretty much through the whole drama but the drama…
Thanks for the warning. Wish I had a list of episodes where Xiao Zhan appears, as I am not a fan of love triangles (I'll end up rooting for the second male lead again). And I really think Darren Wang is handsome and charismatic, but I don't like abusive male lead stories.

Person Machida Keita
It was jarring watching him from Cherry Magic to Alice in Borderland. In fact, I did not recognize him in Alice until the middle of episode 1. The differences between Kurosawa (Cherry Magic) and Kurabe (Alice) are so stark, that I am amazed at his versatility as an actor. Will watch out for his future projects.
On Alice in Borderland Dec 29, 2020
It wasn't until halfway through episode 1 that I realized that Kurabe is played by the same actor who was the love interest in Cherry Magic (a BL drama). My goodness, he's such a good actor that when switching to this character, I really did not recognize him. He was super clean cut in Cherry Magic.
On Tsuge & Minato Dec 28, 2020
I just found out that the actor for Tsuge is actually a dancer outside of acting. Wish they showed him performing.

Title Immortality
I don't think so, Guardian had themes related to buddhism and hence it had to undergo major changes to escape…
I sure hope so! It isn't so much as Shi Mei's gender has been changed, but the character is pivotal, and as complex as Mo Ran. So I really hope the actress is up to par. I've actually imagined Shi Mei as someone who'd look a bit like Xiao Zhan (and I know he could pull off that complexity in characterization). Anyway, just crossing my fingers and wishing for the best for these actors. Looks like they're working really hard, and wow, seeing some of the clips, Luo seems to have nailed Chu Wanning's character.

I feel like this is gonna go the way of Guardian, where the plot changed entirely. Thank goodness for Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu's acting, which saved it. Though I can't imagine how they're gonna spin Husky and Shizun, since the novel is bordering BDSM (and has tons of violence). I really really hope it's good.
