He went because of the plan to uncover his 'family' for the ML. He got sidetracked because of the medication-induced amnesia. He even stood up to the evil uncle in season 1. He was not cowardly but had trauma from his father's death and his sister leaving him at the orphanage ie abandoned trauma. That's why his alter ego was the opposite fighting to be accepted. Nine even stood up to the alter ego and told him he had to leave because Fei Fei and the others needed him. He risked his life when his sister locked him away and he was trying to find the secrets pretending to be the alter ego. Ning went to the ML and apologised in season 1. He even explained everything. In season 2 he worked with the FL and ML secretly to find out the sister's plan and her brother. He was not a coward in season 1 either. He got into so many fights, protected Fei Fei . Not every male needs to be dominant but slowly won her over. He was afraid of the ML anger but still confessed. He even protected the FL so soft spoken and dealing with his traumas. At the risk of his evil sister, he still went through with the plan.

Fei Fei is weak domestic abuser. She is a grown woman who treated her relationships like a cash box and sucked people dry emotionally. Ning is timid, sure based on his trauma of being abandoned. However, who always rescued Fei Fei? To the point of getting his hand damaged in the first fight. She never even took care of him then and she caused the fight. When he got the other personality, he was attracted but played that playboy on her. Do not forget he knew as Ning that Fei Fei sold him out for the money from his sister and still came to the store to ask her to wait for him. He is in no way a coward. He risked his life to save the female lead and uncover the sister's family. Did you notice he always got it fights as Ning? Fei Fei is one of those character persons that is egotistical to the end. In season 2 she showed no growth but last-minute- Oh let me slip it in there so he does not leave. Please note his black Amex card and as Ning she could bully him but not as the other personality. How many times is she doing to raise her hand and hit others? Even as a lover she still called him a kid in front of others. Very unrealistic character. You can only hit and attribute to his trauma for so long. No matter how many times even her friends tell her. He did not deserve the treatment at all. So she waited, was he supposed to walk out of the coma and amnesia? Look how quickly her friend found him Miss Brainiac. Every other character saw his worth but her.

The scriptwriter and wardrobe ie stylists need a good talking to. The male lead was a well dressed 28-year-old CEO even his make-up was great. This season he looked like Liberace with sneakers on. He had all the wrong makeup on and sparkly clothes with sneakers. So they lost a lot of budget money huh? Fei Fei becomes almost impossible to watch with her hitting, selfishness and annoying whining. If I were Ning I would not have taken her, she is an abusive narcissist. Again here the scriptwriters showed no growth but went with the typical, now I have him I am going to start biting,, whining hitting and so forth. So season 3 the evil siblings have a plan hatched. But for heaven's sake please stop the cheap Chinese drama cliches and wardrobe as it is a nightmare to watch. I love the cast as they can act but the scriptwriters and wardrobe did them dirty.

Thanks for giving us your opinion in the comment section. I can appreciate an honest opinion. I actually find several actresses and actors who are esteemed, yet I do not like their chemistry or acting. I have the opinion that you are not 'hating or jealous' as other commenters are stating but giving your preferences. By plastic-ness I assume you meant mannequin-like expressions and not necessarily plastic surgery, correct? If you do not like a person's acting, line up or such, then that is all good. Good for you that you have become a stronger person. There are others who have several different ways of handling bullying. Letting the police do their jobs will help. I stopped watching because of her. At episode 20 or there about. I just can't with her. Whoever wrote her part did the actress and viewers no justice.
