BUT, beyond being an ad, I think Blued is testing the waters with Meet Me Outside for a full-blown BL series. Smart move, considering how most Filipino BLs failed to deliver expected viewership (attributed mostly to poor writing and direction).
Please also support Meet Me Outside. It's directed (JP Habac) and written (JM Severo) by the same people who worked on Gaya Sa Pelikula. Watch the teaser here: https://youtu.be/yjWc-hFENT4
You answered your own dilemma. "I honestly can't see why literally everyone thinks this is so amazing."Vs."Everyone…
But your taste is not the standard by which shows and people operate. :)
I like it because it was like I was watching my whole journey towards self-discovery as a Vlad realizing that I deserve a love outside the closet.
Others liked it because they can relate to the characters.
There are those who like it because it opens/opened discussion on often-ignored lgbtqia issues.
Most Japanese watchers liked it because it portrayed women well unlike most shows in the genre where women are depicted as toxic and jealous ex-lovers.
Some people liked Anna for being the ideal ally, Judit for admitting her lapses, Santi for being an older gay paying it forward.
Most were a fan of the songs used in the series and how each was picked to match the scenes perfectly.
For the most part, a lot of Filipinos liked it because it was a breath of fresh air for lgbtqia rep against the traditional portrayal of gay people in mainstream media as sexually voracious immorals or tokens for comedic relief in a largely conservative and deeply religious roman catholic country.
A lot of people like it because they could relate to it -- maybe owing to personal experiences which we might not get because we haven't been through them. It all circles back to what you said: people have different opinions/experiences and everyone has different tastes. If we don't get it, then maybe it's not for us to get.
love how they represented the lgbt community and how they played out Karl's self discovery, but I personally think…

Some people out here really seem to think the road to self-discovery and acceptance is short and easy like how some bl series portray it to be. This really shows their disconnect from reality. Sometimes love doesn't conquer all at once. Sometimes love has to wait until it can conquer everything, one by one.
The series hits close to home as someone who has been in Vlad's shoes. If you love someone and they're not ready, you have to be willing to wait while being aware that you deserve a love that you can "take with you everywhere." That's why you wait.

Build up the hype.

It took them 9 days to shoot everything.
