still doesn't make sense tbh. if he went to jail, his life would have been over after a jail sentence. you don't easily recover from that in korea. hiding his crime means letting him get off (as was seen in the end after giving him his blood and letting him live... how is this him suffering?)

even though you say you don't like historical dramas, i think you will LOVE Scarlet Heart froma few years ago. there are two types of historical k-dramas tbh.... some are more fact based/history based and some are more fusion style. scarlet heart is more fusion style and is one of my absolute favorite dramas with a stunning cast! it's so well acted and has many wonderful and beautiful scenes with a lot of cute, funny scenes too. its just wonderful, so please do try it out! you will not regret it. it has Lee Joon Gi (Flower of Evil, Lawless Lawyer), singer and actress IU, Kang Ha Neul (When the Camellia Blooms), and many many other great actors. It even has EXO's Baekhyun lol

i almost gave up on vincenzo but i swear if you keep going, it really does turn out to just be an EXCELLENT drama. it took me like 4 episodes though ntil they toned down the FL and the supporting cast and it got more into the story and stopped some of the silly stuff.

Bossam is a GREAT drama and I don't know why it's so underrated. I think because it's a bit sad and a historical drama. When the historical dramas are a bit more sad and also based more on facts of history instead of more like the fusion (with more romance and comedy added in to the historical setting), I've noticed that don't do quite as well with the international fans. It was also one of the most beautifully shot dramas of this year though!!

and the "ending" scene for the King was perfectly portrayed and so nostalgic. I thought it was so well acted. It also made me even more interested in that king and his reign than I already was and I ended up reading more about his life and family- it was terribly tragic. yeah but a very good drama for sure!!

I'm for anything for Lee Jong Suk, but then you add in Kwak Dong Yeon and I'm deffo there!!! But then you add in Kim Joo Heon and thats the icing on the cake!! I was hoping after Vincenzo that Kwak Dong Yeon would start getting bigger roles though :( He is leading man material yall!!

ahhh, maybe so! i just thought because 2nd ML is jealous, etc and also when i went to the page for the drama, it had the tags of "Older Woman/Younger Man" and "Scandal." so that's why i was thinking the scandal referred to love line between them. but maybe the scandal is something else since the school is also said to be corrupt, etc. regardless, if you read on the drama page, it sounds like an interesting story! ^^

personally think the FL casting is a mistake. i can't see her as the lead in this at all. she seems too mature in this part to play off supposed high school boys.

i feel like Sky Castle was such a smash hit, that everything has just been trying to one up it since... as far as drama goes. for example, world of married, penthouse, etc. i know these over the top drama moments are loved by korean audiences but lately these series just feel the same to me. i had to drop a couple of series for the same reason but im hoping for better things for this one since i love the ladies and also several of the supporting characters!

makjang indicates a type of series that is REALLY over the top drama. usually its a family series (by family i mean one that involves a huge cast and therefore more room for drama lol) but not always. commons plots include a mixture of amnesia, hidden birth secrets, affairs, crooked business men and women, murder, scandals and everything else you could possibly dream up. but not like one per series- like several! lol theyre even made fun of even by koreans but koreans still love them. lol

absolutely agree. can't believe how disappointing episode 9 just was. like... THAT was how things were suddenly brought to a conclusion for our "second leads"?? (cause it's obvious Yoshi is going to get pushed away next week too) It's been way too obvious who she would choose from the beginning so the drama has been way to simple, too straightforward, not development whatsoever. Her acting has been wooden for sure also but I still don't mind it too much I guess. You're right though- each episode gets more boring. The entire sideline about the man stealing her money took important time away from the 3B boys who mattered- that's when we could have had some actual development between characters and in the plot. But that entire side plot with the 4th guy was nonsense! Such frustrating writing for sure

nah.... he just keeps getting type cast in the same sort of roles. he actually has other roles where he shows off different types of characters but those roles are just not his most famous dramas. people love him in the chic, cold, sort of smutty roles tbh. but as someone else already said if you watch Alice in Borderland, you'll see a very different role for him there :)
