I'm starting episode 12 and I seriously can't deal with the mom anymore. The writers did such a terrible job with her character. Every episode I keep asking myself what her motivation even is. She gets exactly what she wants, then turns around and does things that completely sabotage her own goal. WHY?! I get it, they need a villain. But please, stop writing villains that make zero sense. I'm honestly thinking about dropping the show just because of the mom's character. Even if I finish it, I don't think I could give it more than an 8 (and that's only if I end up really liking it), just because of how badly they handled her. So disappointing.
Not a big-budget series, the dialogues and plot are pretty average, but the chemistry is great and the acting is decent. There was just something about it that kept me looking forward to Saturday week after week. When the trailer came out, I thought I wouldn't like it. It didn't seem like my cup of tea. Thankfully, I gave it a chance anyway (because I wanted to see Fluke in a lead role), and I got hooked almost immediately. This is one of those series you just have to try for yourself. Watch a couple of episodes and decide if you wanna drop it or keep watching. Overall it's an 8,5/10 for me.
Episode 8 was full of plot twists. Reading the comments, I'm surprised by how much they differ from my own opinion,…
At first, I was also annoyed with Rit. He was the one who lied first. Okay, Itt knew about the lie, so what? Isn't that the perfect outcome? He knew, and he wasn't mad. Rit, you idiot, you should be happy. But then we find out that the three prophets, who we already knew were scammers, were actually part of Itt's plan to get closer to Rit. The wedding? Same thing, a planned lie. Even the grandma was in on it. At one point, I thought the grandpa's cancer was also part of the plan. Thankfully (as bad as this sounds), the grandpa does have cancer and they didn't make it a lie.
Once all of this was exposed, I still didn't condone Ritt's behavior or his lies, but I could understand his reaction. When you tell a lie, it eats you. You have to be extremely careful. You need to remember every little detail connected to that lie, and maintaining it often requires even more lies. Since lies aren't the truth, they're also harder to remember. On top of that, you're constantly anxious about being exposed and dealing with the consequences. Will it happen tomorrow? Next month? A year from now? That's why we need to understand that Rit was living in hell. It was his own fault, obviously. He chose to lie. But that's exactly why lies aren't worth it. They may seem like a great idea in the moment, but eventually they just drain you.
So realizing that everything he felt was somehow invalidated because Itt already knew, has to hurt. Itt didn't seem to suffer because of the lie, since he knew Rit was lying and apparently saw it as a fair game. But Rit had no idea that Itt was in on it as well. And even putting all of that aside, I think Pure was actually the worst. I love Pure's sweet side when he's with Pitcha, but come on. You're Rit's best friend. You're watching him suffer because of this lie. He's being consumed by it. He's panicking. He's anxious. And you're seeing all of this while knowing that Itt already knows the truth. A good friend, seeing someone he cares about suffer like that, would have told Rit the truth as soon as he realized how badly it was affecting him. The fact that Pure stayed quiet... man, that sucks. What an awful friend.
So overall, Rit is a liar, and he does deserve some consequences for it. But at the same time, I completely understand his reaction, and the empathetic side of me can see why he's acting the way he is. Hopefully, he'll calm down and have a proper conversation with Itt and Pure on the next episode.
Episode 8 was full of plot twists. Reading the comments, I'm surprised by how much they differ from my own opinion, so I'm going to leave my thoughts here behind a spoiler tag. It's gonna be quite a long rant lol
I think it was right before Noh Gojin went to apologize to them. They are talking about her being in Jeju with her son and wondering if Noh Gojin will sue them.
The only problem I have about this drama it's that they sell it to you as a polyamory relationship, and THAT'S…
They don't even end up together. The girl and the pansexual guy don't end up in a relationship (it feels more like they end up being simple friends with benefits), and the gay guy ends up dating one of the side characters.
The only problem I have about this drama it's that they sell it to you as a polyamory relationship, and THAT'S A LIE! Someone should remove the tag tbh. It's just a heterosexual girl, a gay guy, and a pansexual guy who have a threesome one night after taking drugs. They three are super close and their friendship is beautiful, loyalty at its finest. But that's all what they have, a one night threesome. No relationship, no love (romantic), no nothing. Spoiler on the next comment.
I have to agree as I wrote it in my review, there are too many holes, and it was rushed and unclear so I connect…
Exactly! I understand that it's a short drama and therefore they have to rush everything, but a little bit of background explanation to understand some things wouldn't take that long. I've read that they are planning on releasing it again as a movie format, and I hope that they give us extended scenes to be able to connect the dots way better.
Some people are saying that the dad is the reason why Shi De and Shu Yi didn't see each other in 5 years, while others are saying that they are making it look like the father planned everything yet probably it's not what it seems.
So here I am, giving you the best of both worlds:
What if the father did indeed approach Shi De to tell him to leave Shu Yi, but actually he was trying to see it's if Shi De loves his son enough to refuse and stay next to him? Maybe Shu Yi's father threatened/said something and Shi De decided to give up thinking that it was the best for Shu Yi. And that's why in the trailer Shi De says to the father that he isn't the same as 5 years ago and this time he won't give up Shu Yi. But at the end it turns out that all what the father wanted was to make sure that Shi De really loves and cares for his son.
There you go. This is the hypothesis to make everyone happy hahahaha! Honestly I have no idea what will happen and I can't wait to find out!
My prayers have been heard! If someone saw my comment from ages ago, I basically said how none of the plot twists were really plot twists since the answers were quite obvious. You could expect all those twists if you have been watching a few thrillers. So I was hoping for some big final unexpected twist and they gave it to us.
Since the very beginning I knew that Pued, Rung and Gun were definitely involved in all this shit (alongside the 2 known culprits). To be honest I also suspected Dr. Oat, and although there are still 2 episodes left... I think now that he is completely innocent.
But the fact that the judge is the main culprit and mastermind... wow. I mean, once it was revealed I realized how it has been hinted all the time. The character of the judge appeared from nowhere mid-series, and he agreed to whatever Bun and Tan requested. I always thought how weird it was that this judge didn't really question much about their requests, but since he was kind of an extra character that appeared late in the drama I thought that he had no main role in the plot. Oh man... I should have focused way more on this weird vibe that the judge gave me hahaha!
Now I'm excited to know what's Rung's role exactly. She is with them when supposedly she killed Pued because he killed her sister. So why is she siding with the ones that made her sister's life miserable and eventually caused her death? But her being part of the culprits explains why she didn't need for a lawyer and why she confessed so willingly.
And poor Inspector M, he will obviously survive but he won't be able to be a policeman anymore. I feel like he is the second male lead that causes second lead syndrome without being a real second lead hahaha!
PS: If you are reading this spoiler while considering if you should watch the series and you are worried about some comments saying how the BL is almost non-existent, I strongly recommend to give it a try. If you want some KornKnock kind of BL, then you will be disappointed. There are steamy scenes, but the whole story is like 75% crime/thriller and 25% BL.
I can't wait for the final 2 episodes! I wonder what they used as a reason to arrest dr. Bun.
I get why people are so attached to Seo Jun since he is the typical second lead who is a sweetheart to the FL. However people seem to forget that he had evil intentions when approaching Jung Kyung at first. The only reason why he showed interest for her was to annoy Su Ho. He didn't like her nor was interested in her, he only liked to see Su Ho mad because he was close to Jung Kyung. Then eventually he caught feelings, but he should have appreciated her from the beginning instead of using her as a way to get revenge. At the end of the day Su Ho is the one who liked Jung Kyung from the very beginning, with all her flaws and with no second intentions. He not only saved her life, but he also protected and cared for her way before they got together. This is a drama and the writers need to put some misunderstanding/break up to give it a finale, but Jung Kyung ending up with Seo Jun would be the most stupid thing to do so I believe it won't happen. I haven't read the webtoon so I don't know how much of a difference it makes.
Episode 5 is the best one so far. Not only for the resolution of the episode, but also for the lesson they "teach". You CAN'T impose your love to the other person, and therefore you can't force someone to love you back. You must deal with your own feelings since those feelings are your business. Can't wait to see more of them!!
The execution is a bit lacking but I think it's the best for many of us because its concept is creative and fascinating.…
Exactly! The other ones are okay especially taking into account how Korea is barely starting in the BL genre. But their plots have no novelty, you can easily find them in a random asian drama. However Color Rush has played with the monochromacy and the hypothetical case of a person who can "cure" it and how it can turn into an obsession. I can't wait for the day when a korean company will be able to get enough budget to produce a longer and better BL, hopefully Strongberry will be the first one to get the chance.
Out of the 4 mainstream korean BLs, this one ended up being the best which confuses me a lot. There are tons of things without conclusion, and it's quite unrealistic (there should be a "supernatural" tag in the genre description tbh). However I enjoyed it and I'm hoping for a second season to get extra answers that are needed. The dynamic of the mono-probe relationship, the worries that this dynamic brings to the lead, how they manage their feelings... everything is packed in a way that the other mainstream korean BLs weren't able to do. And the actors were really good at expressing their feelings even when they weren't saying a word. Congrats to the whole team!
i have never watched a bl series before, is it good?
So far this one is good. However korean BLs are super short and almost all of them follow the "innocent" vibe of kdramas. Maybe you can give it a try with this one and if you like it then go deeper into the genre. Although they still have a long way to be as good as BLs from other countries, the korean ones are short which can be a plus if you have never watched a BL before and you want to test the waters :)
If someone wants to read the novel, it's only available in Thai. The authors have copyrighted their work therefore translations are illegal. Here you have the link to the novel. You can open it with a web explorer such as Google Chrome that translates the whole thing in your language. You can't select the text, so it's impossible to copy and paste it to google translate. You must translate it from the same website. Obviously the translation will be awful, but so far it's the only way to read it if you don't understand Thai:
Okay, as requested, I will spoil the novel. And note that there are some changes so far between the novel and the…
OMG! You gave me more than I expected. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Although they seem to have changed the reason behind Jane's death (since it's pointing towards the congressman, the human trafficking, and the drugs and not as Pued and Rung's way to keep their wrongdoings a secret), I always thought that her sister was hiding something... I thought from the beginning that Rung and Dr. Oat are not as good as they seem, so now I'm looking forward to see if they will make her the villain just like the novel.
I get it, they need a villain. But please, stop writing villains that make zero sense.
