It's about preferences and tastes, everyone has different point of view to look at something whatever their age maybe. I totally get that metaphors, social satire and philosophy but the thing is it failed in execution of story line and ended up being messy... which has nothing to do with not understanding metaphors, but things aren't executed properly and feels like scattered pieces.
