Crazy hell.
It's a fucking hell of a crazy, badass, mind-fucking series! Man… oh man, I could slap myself for not watching it sooner. I was all set to give it a 9🌟 before the end, but then that man showed himself, and I was like, How the fuck could a badass like him just kill himself in front of a 20-year-old boy? But as the twist unraveled, it turned out to be an out-and-out 10🌟 series for me!Can’t wait for S2—it’s gonna be a hell of a ride.

The Best thing i have ever watched in my entire life.
I won’t write a full review since I just finished it. The emotions haven’t sunk in yet, so I’ll share my instant thoughts about Alchemy of Souls.I just finished both parts, and I’m losing my mind. This is the best, the best, the bestest thing I have ever watched in my entire life! I’m feeling two emotions—one is absolute satisfaction, thinking, Wow, what a series I just watched! An absolute gem! The other is a deep fear: Will I ever watch anything like this or better? And my mind keeps saying, You won’t. My goodness, is there anything better than this? Can anyone please help me? Please, please! I’ve never pleaded for anything before, but today, I am—please recommend something like this.

The journey is worth it
Finished. What fantastic performances, I'm blown away by how each of the actors played their characters. They truly lived the roles. The detailing of each little thing and the courtesy in interactions all felt very authentic, with cinematic liberty in fun moments that made it even more enjoyable. I loved it.Park Hyung Sik as Lee Hwan and Jeon So Nee as Min Jae-yi were wonderful to watch. He carried the weight, intelligence, and vulnerability of the Crown Prince so well, while Min Jae-yi’s sharp mind and courage made her character feel strong and inspiring. Their chemistry and growing trust felt natural and real. It's a very long drama but still hooks you till the end. Even after 20 episodes it felt the final episode was rushed, yet the investment in the characters is very rewarding for me.
I'm happy and want to preserve this emotion for some time and will think about this drama from time to time.

New, worth it starting.
If a show starts with a bang but ending doesn't match or equals the starting bang, it just doesn't last long. On the other hand, if a show starts with normal but ends with a bang, it just lasts eternally. Buried Hearts is the 1st category. Glory: A Well-Built Story That Stumbles in Delivery
I’ve just finished watching Glory, and while it leaves a generally good impression, it ultimately falls short of being a truly refined drama.At its core, the series is well-written. The screenplay shows ambition and discipline, particularly in how it approaches characterization. The female lead is unquestionably the strongest pillar of the show. Her character is carefully constructed—shaped by upbringing, struggle, and emotional endurance—and the writing stays remarkably true to her nature throughout. What stands out is the balance she maintains: commanding without being loud, cunning without being exaggerated, and powerful without losing restraint. The performance complements this writing well, delivering nuance and presence that feel earned. Her arc remains consistent, controlled, and convincing from beginning to end.
The male lead, however, is where the execution begins to weaken. On paper, his character is solid. He’s introduced with a sense of authority and emotional weight, and his gradual descent into love is conceptually well-handled. Unfortunately, that characterization never fully materializes on screen. The performance feels underplayed—almost passive at times. In several scenes, he appears strangely inert, as if merely present rather than participating. There’s a noticeable lack of emotional projection and intensity, especially when compared to the female lead. Whether this was a directorial choice or a performance limitation is unclear, but the result is the same: the character never reaches his intended impact.
The Duke family characters, while important to the narrative fabric, also suffer from uneven performances. They’re not poorly written, but their execution feels lukewarm. None of them reach their peak potential, possibly due to limited screen time or insufficient directorial guidance. As a result, many of their scenes fail to leave a strong or lasting impression.
Structurally, the screenplay is both a strength and a weakness. Some moments are given the time they deserve—slowly built with care and intention—while others are wrapped up far too abruptly. This inconsistency creates a disruptive rhythm. The issue isn’t slowness versus speed; it’s the lack of cohesion. There’s a noticeable shift in editing and execution, particularly toward the latter part of the series, where transitions feel rushed and emotionally disconnected from the buildup that preceded them. That imbalance prevents the drama from feeling polished or fully realized.
From a technical standpoint, the series shines visually. The cinematography is top-notch, lending the show a rich, atmospheric quality. The costume design is equally impressive—stylish, appropriate, and visually striking. These elements elevate the viewing experience and contribute significantly to the show’s appeal.
However, realism is where the direction falters most. Emotional scenes often lack authenticity, and action or injury-related moments are poorly executed. The scar sequences, in particular, are handled clumsily. The makeup and staging are unconvincing—you can clearly see the artificiality of the scars and the impact moments, which breaks immersion entirely. In a drama that leans heavily on emotional and physical trauma, such technical oversights are hard to ignore and reflect weak directorial control.
In conclusion:
Glory has strong writing, an excellent female lead, and impressive visual aesthetics. But uneven performances, flawed direction, inconsistent pacing, and a lack of realism prevent it from reaching its full potential. It remains a good watch, but not a great one—certainly not the kind of drama that fully lives up to its ambition.

SLOW POISON WHICH WON'T LEAVE YOU. GETS BETTER WITH EACH EPISODES.
I'm currently on episode 26, and I have to say—episodes 23 and 24 were absolute masterpieces in terms of storytelling, screenplay, direction, and performance. The emotional range is sky-high. The music mix was brilliant, adding so much depth to every scene.Zheng Ye Cheng — I’ve officially become your fan. What an incredible character portrayal! He balances humor, sincerity, and sheer intensity so effortlessly. His character is both deadly and loving — a complex mix of traits that he absolutely nailed. Every shade of emotion felt real and deeply layered.
And Tan Song Yun — words honestly fall short. The range of emotions she conveys through just her eyes is mesmerizing. She brings such authenticity to her role; it’s impossible not to be moved by her performance.
I’m completely in love with this series. It’s a slow poison — it draws you in bit by bit, and before you know it, you’re fully immersed. The pace never drags; in fact, the stakes keep rising with each episode.
Interestingly, though the tone is very different, the show somehow reminds me of the Korean drama My Dearest. There’s a kind of atmospheric symmetry — an emotional pull that lingers, even if the genres don’t match.
Anyway, I’ve written a lot, but I just had to share how much I’m enjoying this. Can’t wait to watch the rest ASAP!

[Till Ep 19: At Its Best top-Tire] [After end: The Fall of a Masterpiece]
After watching Episode 19; of Pursuit of Jade, the first thing I want to say is- this is absolute peak. My goodness. I never thought it would take such a drastic turn. Not even in my wildest imagination did I think it would go this far.This is exactly what I expect from dramas- be bold and go to the absolute extreme with your vision. This is a masterpiece of writing, and what direction! My goodness. I can literally feel that the director must have had many sleepless nights before approaching certain scenes.
I can sense this drama is heading toward legendary status. My heart aches so much- my mouth went dry, and tears fell without me even realizing it. I couldn’t resist reacting to it. The kind of emotional investment I’ve put into this drama is something I can’t even properly express.
The drama spends so much time focusing on the internal, small conflicts in this little town while the big event quietly waits to explode. The director literally makes us his slaves to the story- “slaves” might not be the perfect word, but I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.
The amount of plot and subplots, and the heart-wrenching romance… it won’t let me sleep tonight. I can feel where it’s going and how it might end, but I want it to go even wilder than what I’m imagining- just like it did in these previous four episodes.
I don’t even want to start talking about the cast because all of them are just mind-blowing. Zhang Linghe once again showed why he’s one of the best.
And the music… absolute masterpiece-level work. This is beyond anything anyone could ask for while watching a drama.
I’m still in absorbing mode, trying to process how everything unfolded. I need some time to settle my thoughts onto one page. I’ll write more after watching the next couple of episodes.

It’s my unbiased review. I love Zhang Linghe, that’s why I started this drama. It might be a little long, but I hope you read the whole thing.
Pursuit of Jade finished. I don’t even know how to express my anger, my disappointment… my heart is boiling.
I’ve said it before, around episode 17, it was such a fantastic drama. I genuinely wanted to give it a 10/10 rating. After finishing it, I expected it to stay the way it started: slowly building, everything falling into place, truths unfolding step by step. Small obstacles turning into bigger ones, stakes rising higher, consequences becoming heavier. The chase, the players revealing their true colors, attacks coming from everywhere, leaving them with nowhere to go, and eventually winning through pure tactics against powerful forces… I had imagined all of that.
But as the episodes went by, it became so cringe I can’t even describe it. The same things kept repeating again and again. The story just stopped moving. The same lame jokes, even in serious situations.
Still, it somehow held my attention till episode 37. But the last three episodes? Easily the worst episodes of what was once a fantastic drama I was ready to rate 10/10.
What did they even do there?
The action and war scenes were so bad. The staging was dumb and poorly executed, so fake. I mean, so fake. The production quality dropped drastically. You can literally see the wire work. That scene where he goes to sacrifice himself? So badly directed. I’m saying this confidently, I could have directed it better. I genuinely don’t know what went wrong there.
Then comes the philosophy and the whole “17 years later” part. There wasn’t even a strong foundation for the past, and suddenly you want us to absorb everything in a single episode? Are you serious?
In the last 2-3 episodes, it felt like the director just wanted to show everything, closure, a villain’s humanity, emotional depth, all at once. But it didn’t work. I don’t know whose fault this messy ending is, the editor’s or the director’s, but it’s just disappointing.
The narratives became so slow and poorly structured that you’ll literally fall asleep watching them.
And then… the absurd alternate universe concept. I mean, who asked for that?
You showed extreme cruelty from certain characters, massacres, killings, and then suddenly expect us to sympathize with them? To root for them? That completely destroys the emotional weight the drama built earlier. It started as such a realistic, well-crafted story, and ended as something absurd with bad direction, poor editing, and a nonsensical conclusion.
My mind is still not empty, I could write 10 pages about this, but I think that’s it for this drama.
I’m disappointed.
And I don’t think I’ll ever rewatch it.

An absurd series at its best. The creators clearly tried to be smart and unique with the concept—like an artsy, thought-provoking series—but it ended up becoming a pathetic joke. Masterpiece Drama with it's thrilling Background Score
Omg what a masterpiece this drama is. after watching two ep i can say that it's gone be one of the best history fantasy romantic drama of all time. Honestly i literally get goosebumps while watching, what a masterpiece background score, its editing & bgms is superb ,you can literally get excite by listening the music. And the acting is on top notch the little kids hold the acting till the last and the older one's are also hold it tightly. I'm not wrong if i say ahn hyo seop gives his best performance till now as well as kim yoo jung but the little kids are really brilliant.Can't wait for next ep.
I'm strongly recommend this drama . I'm sure you will be loved by it's visual effect and screenplay

Unique KDrama
Starting is quite interesting and very very unique concept for me, after watching many kdrama I found it is quite different concept and full of engaging scenes with superb cinematography. All actors doing great job. Omg kim ji won what a beauty can't blinck my eyes for sec & ji chang wook i can say that one of the great k actor. 1st EP is interesting fun watching with little Loofols. After watching 1st episode it looks like it has a great writing and what can you say about its director one of the best director of k directing. Usually kdramas have 16 EP but it has 12 EP with 30min each but its 30min equals to a full episode of other dramas due to it's superb direction with great screenplay. Looking forward to next EP I hope that has much more fun than the current ep. After writing this I can say that It's worth watching I can bet on that you can't regret after starting the drama. Don't miss............!!!!!!!!!!Thank you.
