Unique and subtle.
It’s good, a worth watch. But I felt something is missing. I could feel what the director wanted to show, but it sometimes came off guard. The editing is not good, with many things cut out due to fitting it into 8 episodes. The first half was superb, well-engaged, but later it gets a bit dull as scenes became repetitive without much progression. There’s also an issue with the screenplay—it could have been more intact and expansive. Instead, it felt very congested, limiting the story’s potential. I think it really needed some unanswered questions to be talked upon, so Season 2 is a must.
By the way, I loved this series so much—that’s why I talked a lot about its minor problems. I absolutely loved the performances, the cinematography, the production value, the score, and the direction. Well, that’s it about it.
Disappointing. A let down.
Melo Movie – One-Word Review: Disappointing. It’s hard to recall such a poorly written project despite having top-notch production, a superb soundtrack, and solid direction. The biggest flaw lies in the script—it offers nothing substantial, making it a complete waste. If you remove episode 7, there’s absolutely nothing to watch or look forward to.
The movie boasts a cast of top actors, but their performances were underwhelming and felt forced. Despite having all the right elements—high production value, a superb soundtrack, and solid direction—the weak script drags everything down. The only saving grace was Kim Jae Wook, who truly delivered, while the rest of the cast failed to make an impact.
Overall, a huge disappointment.
Clueless.
To be honest, I didn’t watch it with a lot of expectations, and even with the little I had, it still managed to disappoint me. It’s a below-average movie that seems confused about what it wants to convey and where it wants to go. The execution felt all over the place, making it hard to stay engaged. I'm hugely disappointed in both the creators and the actors because, with the premise it had, there was potential to do something much better. Some even compared it to Exhuma, but sorry to say, it doesn’t even hold 10% of that movie’s impact. It felt hollow and directionless.
This is my honest review after watching Dark Nuns.
I'm writing reviews means it has something to say and not just passby.
Yeah, I finally finished it. Before starting, I was damn excited mainly because of the actors—more than the plot. After watching, I’d say it’s good, but that “kick” towards the end didn’t really hit me. It delivered what it wanted to convey, but the last stretch felt a bit dragged out. Honestly, 8 episodes would’ve been perfect. But since it’s a melodrama, you can’t really argue much about the pacing.Cinematography is fantastic, sound design is top-notch, and production is decent. The screenplay, though, could’ve used a little more nourishment. Direction was solid. As for characterization—Da-eum was brilliantly written and performed by Jeon Yeo-been, and Namkoong Min gave his best too. The starting episodes were absolutely brilliant. I just couldn’t keep the same flow towards the end, maybe that’s why I felt a little restless and just wanted to finish it quickly, especially because of the predictability in the writing.overall it has a heart 7.5
By the way, I’m curious—how are other viewers reacting to it?
An Unmissable Journey of Emotion, Performance, and Craft.
Finished it — absolutely brilliant. A one-of-a-kind drama you don’t want to miss. This is an experience that needs to be lived. The cinematography was fantastic, the direction solid, and the performances were top-notch. From the soundtrack to the costumes and overall set design, the production value was clearly high.If I have one complaint, it's about the screenplay in the middle — it dragged a bit. The drama started with an absolute bang, and you just couldn’t wait for the next episode. That same energy carried through most of the series, but it did lose momentum in bits and pieces during the middle. Still, it never went off track, which is impressive.
The finale, though, felt rushed. Several moments could have been executed more thoughtfully. The emotional transitions happened too quickly — and in a drama like this, where you've been deeply invested in the characters’ growth, those fast shifts can undercut the experience. It needed more time to let the emotions settle.
That said, the character study was fantastic. I truly hope viewers pick up on what I felt watching it. Overall, it’s a solid, powerful watch. Just little short to call it a masterpiece— but as i said it’s a series you shouldn't miss because the characterisation & performance of both the lead is masterpiece.
Rating: 9/10
Good drama but story is fully lacking, it may have been better
At first Very unique to a regular Chinese ROM-COMSfter watching 1at few eps Plot is good aching skills also in very high note
Every time you see the Male lead you like want to see him acting more as well as female lead. It's mostly like female oriented plot but giving good screen space to every character that's the biggest plus point of the drama thats why ilike it and reviewed it.
Especially its good and twisted ROM-COM.
Im looking forward to it what will happens next.
In the midpoint of the drama Many boring scene it has and the negative points of the drama is the story and direction ,it's the worst direction i ever watched and the screen play is like running in Olympic
The drama looks like xu kaicheng is having a guest appearance the welcome him and saying him to say a dialouge then get lost it's happening like this.
That's why i really disappoint with the drama ml didn't get a good screen space but whenever he came to screen drama has its heart.
It should have been better.
For all actors acting and music 10/10
Thank U
Exciting, Yet Fell Short of the Sky
One hell of a story & script — wow, what a concept. Poor execution couldn’t do justice to the material; the editor also couldn’t bind it together perfectly. The major problem is the performances, which are very mid — not a single actor truly excels to their maximum potential to elevate the scenes. All of this makes it an average watch. I’ll have to watch the original Japanese version.
Strong Beginning, Potential Wasted by Editing and Pacing Issues
Shine On Me starts on a very strong note. Many departments are genuinely well done—the story is engaging, the characters are established clearly, and the emotional setup works. The early episodes are especially enjoyable, pulling you in with solid writing and a promising narrative direction. At its best, the drama shows real potential. However, the biggest issue lies in the execution, particularly the editing. It is easily one of the weakest aspects of the show. Several episodes feel unnecessarily stretched, and two to three episodes could have been trimmed without losing any impact. The final episode, in particular, drags far more than it should. With tighter editing, the drama could have been far more effective and impactful.
The VFX is another noticeable drawback. The green-screen work is poorly executed and, at times, unintentionally laughable. Using green screen isn’t the problem—using it carelessly is. In today’s time, budget constraints can’t really justify such subpar visual execution. These technical flaws may seem small, but they slowly chip away at the viewing experience.
The performances in the last episode feel noticeably forced. The characters are meant to be in their late 30s, yet neither their appearance nor their behavior convincingly reflects that. It doesn’t align with the characterization built earlier, making it feel as though the characters haven’t aged at all. The interactions involving the child also come across as awkward and unnatural, which further weakens the emotional impact.
The drama would have benefited greatly from giving more focus to the supporting characters we’re already familiar with. Instead, several scenes are stretched for five to six minutes simply to fill runtime. The lack of substantial content becomes obvious, the pacing suffers, and what starts as dialogue-driven storytelling quickly turns monotonous.
I may sound harsh, but that’s largely because the latter episodes significantly affected my overall experience and rating. A drama needs to start strong, hold its ground in the middle, and end on a powerful note that stays with you. Unfortunately, Shine On Me falters at the end. The last couple of episodes go totally flat—predictable and underwhelming. The final episode, in particular, disappointed me in almost every aspect.
That said, I did enjoy the drama, especially the earlier episodes. It just didn’t meet the standard or potential I had hoped for, considering how promising the beginning was.
When a Solid Series divert to a hole at the Finish Line
I mean, what the f was that ending? It completely ruined the series and killed the overall enjoyment of the drama. Total letdown — whoever approved it honestly deserves to be dropped in the middle of the sea for the rest of their life. What happened to his family? If something happened to them i dont quite relatable on it tehy deserves the brighter side. don’t know waht happene with Yang Jeong Suk — the creators should’ve wrapped things up with a solid, spectacular ending instead of leaving it hanging.
Now, about the series itself — pretty damn good overall. But I really don’t like these kinds of dull, half-baked endings, especially in a feel-good slice-of-life mystery adventure black comedy drama. On the positive side: the cinematography and production are top-notch, the soundtrack is superb, and the performances are nothing short of a masterclass in character portrayal. Direction, screenplay, art, and costumes — all spot on.
Overall: A good watch neither masterpiece nor total dull. Just be prepared for that ending. Let me know if you felt the same or if it worked for you. Rating: 7.5
WATCHED ONLY FOR YOO-AH-IN BUT THE STORY IS WHOLE MESSED.
Drama concept is unique and good but the story is many way lacking so much, actually it's not developing except the ending scenes which gives thrill to audiences for next seasonIf there is no Yoo Ah In the drama , it shouldn't be that hipe Or worth watching. I really had a great expectation of the drama but it's somehow disappointed ,
How can be that type of brainwash be believed by every single people it's not acceptable.
How can there every people exept the things, that it is God's will after seeing their own family members death. How can there be that much of politics other than trying to find the details about those creatures. Except 1st ep and ending scenes none of the scenes are exciting or new. Or be valuable at all, THE WHOLE STORY IS MESSED.
I hope season 2 may not be build like season 1 , hoping for good.
Let's see when ,and how it will go forward.
Thank U.
It's quite a perfect drama with superb acting & it's worth watching
I watched many k drama's. Till date startup just blow my mind with strong cinematography and classic direction. All actors doing great job as specially Nam Joo hyuk . All episode are engaging brilliant to watch the drama no regrets. Specially this drama deals with great concert and plot loving to watch these type of drama. I didn't mention its background music and designing its very unique and cool actually. And bae suzy as usual doing great job actually the cast is perfect. And I'm very excited to see suzy in our indian🇮🇳movies, she is in indian 2 movie cast it will great to watch her in our movie. At last I'm looking forward to next episode. In EP 13 14 the story is full of boring very bad directing, it's pace gone slow and slow very disappointed after watching EP 14, all things are illogical. In do san mind dal mi has no feeling for him he believes it for 3years but after he suddenly wants to join dal mi company its very illogical. Plot is totally missing. Looking forward to next episode. The ending EP is as usual a happy ending. It's worth watching but as compare to starting the ending EP a little lacking. At last it is a superb drama.. Of romance, sucess struggle comedy, emotional full package of entertainment.Thank you.

The best, the best, the bestest thing I have ever watched in my entire life!
I won’t write a full review since I just finished it. The emotions haven’t sunk in yet, so I’ll share my instant thoughts about Alchemy of Souls.I just finished both parts, and I’m losing my mind. This is the best, the best, the bestest thing I have ever watched in my entire life! I’m feeling two emotions—one is absolute satisfaction, thinking, Wow, what a series I just watched! An absolute gem! The other is a deep fear: Will I ever watch anything like this or better? And my mind keeps saying, You won’t. My goodness, is there anything better than this? Can anyone please help me? Please, please! I’ve never pleaded for anything before, but today, I am—please recommend something like this.
A Thought Provoking Business political thriller with a romantic touch 2024
Some viewers might not have liked ep 5, 6 but I liked it, the writing and script should come out with realistic realism which most K-dramas don't show because of stereotypes but reality works like this there is no one who is good and pure everyone wants to be rich and live as much comport as they could have. The rich hate the poor and the poor hates the rich vice versa. The different ideology of the middle class (Tae Ho, Hye Won) and rich groups (Kang In Ha, Kang Jong Ma) was brilliantly shown by the director in the 6th episode when Kang In Ho didn't think about Tae Ho who almost died and he did what his father would have done, even his father is using him he knows it and Tae Ho is the one who brings him up infort of his father but he didn't think about him Ina life and daeth situation. At Another scene in the dinner where Joong Ma didn't show slightest of intrest in Hye Won or didn't even asked her name and then she stood up for her self respect and spoke in a tone most of us would have. The plot is great from the first episode itself as it focuses mostly on realistic aspects like if you are getting a chance to become rich or you can become rich if you push yourself in the direction where you can reach if you give your little more time or marry an conglomerates/ rich person's son even if you don't have any feelings, will you choose it or choose your feelings for a person where your future is unpredictable where you don't have assurance that you won't struggle in the future because you are choosing a common man. Will you choose your feelings or money comfortabl life this is the thought that most people must have in their mind, I know the problem, the problem is that you are connecting facts to the plot but not liking it because it is not white and not showing the lovely moments but more of a realistic approach. But rest assured I can guarantee that in the remaining ep u ll see the dynamics of the common man the lead actor actress VS the rich the conglomerate family including Kang in Ha then the real power struggle and the potential of the writing will be judged. My writing intrest is for the audience who ate not watching it cause of law ratings but trust me watch the 1st 2 ep then decide. By the way the lead actress has to learn a lot in ,she is struggle a lot in complicating scenes a lot but as its her debut as lead in a demanding acting scope character I thing she is doing good, why are you worried about acting when the brilliant actor lee Jae wook is here & he can carry the series single handedly. what a gifted talented actor he is in this age.Episode 7 and 8: The episode should start and end just like this as a single ep of 2hrs, now i get it why they release 2ep in a single day slot in a week. it's getting better and better and I can see a banger ending for it.
The character's motivation is becoming clearer, the little realistic things which director adds is commendable, which is not the case in most K-dramas.
Inha has never been a trustworthy person, right from the start, he's a socio-psychopath who tries to control people under him, kills for his own benefits isn't it worst .now his motivation is clear.
Why people feel bad for him, I don't know and the cheating part I'm saying again he deserves it and it will hurt him more than this as the secret is revealed & much more yet to reveal.
Tae Ho, Huijie is the most righteous character from the whole series in a turbulent evil world. As it intended to be.
And you got it right Hye Won is the impossible heir. I agree, her acting is obviously bad, there's not much improvement from her side, but I will never give her personal troll for it as i have seen worst actress than this after doing many dramas & it's a very difficult character, you need to have courage to accept this as debut. I only hope she learns for it for her future project.
There are many other reasons to absolutely love this series.
Starting from the varied dynamic range of characters to watch, the acting, cinematography, writing, music, production, and finally the direction. Let alone the design and capture of the 2 minute chase sequences, it is enough to mark it as brilliant.👏 I'm loving every bit of it& i could not find any
upcoming drama in this range.
Quantum Physics Butchered: Love in Time’s Clueless Ending
Please excuse my words, but seriously—WTF was that ending? The screenwriter clearly had no clue how time loops or time travel actually work. You can’t just kill off future Zheng Yu, then magically merge his memories into the 2021 version and call it the same person. That’s not time travel—that’s lazy writing. From a logical and scientific standpoint:
If the 2022 version dies in 2021, it creates a paradox. How did he travel back in time if he died before making that choice?
You can't just “merge” two timelines or people—memory isn’t a file you plug into someone else.
A reserved version with no emotional growth suddenly becoming a stand-in for the mature one we loved? That’s not romantic, it’s narrative betrayal.
The emotional stakes were real, and then the show just tossed it all out for a feel-good shortcut. He died a hero, and we ended up with his emotionally-flat copy. Honestly? That’s not how time loops—or storytelling—should work.
Weak and idiotic minds ruined the ending and made it clueless, with many flawed loops. Absolutely disappointing at the end.
