Hi! I am not bashing you, I'm just putting my own input regarding the matter.
Point is, it's highly recommended for people to get out of a toxic relationship. However, when we're talking about such thing, it's always layered with multiple factors like their personal decisions and such. But, yes, of course they should always have the choice of leaving. Honestly, it all comes down to choice so the best thing to do is a proper discussion to what should be done.
Don't romanticise cheating relationship. Cheating and staying with them doesnt make you adult . Any age people…
1. The show didn't romanticize cheating. 2. You should read more about the concept of forgiveness and its motivations. You'll learn that satisfaction of needs will be their priority. 3. Forgiveness roots from personal reasons. Unless you're Oh-Aew, you can't invalidate his decisions just because it differs from yours.

Teh was in discovery of his sexuality . However, he was not able to overcome his incapability to control new emotions and being impulsive. As long as there is no resolution to the issue, similar behavior will arise when put on a similar condition (ie. Feeling new emotions like manifesting attraction to person). In the context of IPYTM, he used a dangerous acting technique called method acting (inside-out acting technique) which blurred his vision of reel and real feelings.
Oh-Aew, in terms of his academics, wasn't really sure about communication arts because he loses interest on them immediately. Comparing Oh-Aew to Teh in terms of managing emotions, he developed skills in sorting it out first. Besides, what he felt for Bas during that time is arguably superficial and just infatuation.
why they choose to reflect while the personality of Teh is so real, he makes mistakes, (even though i don't approve),…
Oh, like how they were during ITSAY?
Oh-Aew knowing what he wants. Teh being conflicted by his incapability of managing his emotions. Seems familiar, right? That's also their personalities in ITSAY.

I perceived that the cheating is directed more towards the effect of method acting and the bad things in the entertainment industry (like directors emotionally manipulating actors for their craft).
Besides, it's not out of the blue because 1. Teh's behavior towards Tarn is similar to what he did to Oh-Aew when he felt new feelings to Jai. 2. The series was consistent in establishing that what Teh and Jai were doing method acting since ep3. It's not a coincidence that one of the most common mental strain of actors is not being able to get out of the character they're playing. The aftermath was intended to be more psychological.

Yes, cheating is the main trope, and yet why are we oversimplifying the matter and disregarding the fact that it's more multifaceted than what it looks? Cheating is psychological. Studies have shown that richer and more famous people cheat. And a consistent number of celebrities cheat. Furthermore, the inability to manage emotion because of acting is a mental and emotional strain. Basically, "the acting plot and psychological effect" you're pertaining about were tackled through the trope cheating.
Might I also add that the trope of ITSAY is childhood-to-lovers, which is also overused and cliche but hey, let's cherry-pick?
Whew okay, I'm really disappointed, did I expect to much? But why the dumb cliché cheating? This has nothing…
That's where the acting theme comes in. There are psychological studies explaining why actors have trouble in differentiating their character's emotions and their personal feelings. They're using Chekhov's Inside-Out (as the title suggest), which means they use emotions first then they characterize. Problem is, the boundary between real to reel becomes clouded due to lack of control precedence.
Maybe I belong to the minority but I enjoyed IPYTM. Why? Effective Storytelling - They used parallel narrative as a story structure to implicitly show the recurring theme (ie. changes). By utilizing such, the audience will feel a familiarity with the scenes yet emphasizing that the environment deviated from what's before while maintaining the persona of the involved characters, which helped in creating a new reaction (both good and bad). What happened in IPYTM happened in ITSAY. The circumstances between Tarn and Oh-Aew share likeliness: they were both ditched and victims of Teh's incapability to manage new emotions.
The Acting - the improvement from both actors is visible. No need to explain.
They handled a negative theme with justice by giving Oh-Aew the courage to break up with Teh. Breaking up is the best thing to do when in a toxic relationship.
We can keep denying what happened, but pretty sure most of us have expected THAT to happen even before the show starts. And no amount of repression or denial could cover that truth.
Welcome to Nadao peeps, you've been Littlefingered. HAHAHAHAHA
After having watched the first ep I noticed that ITSAY carried alot more hidden symbolism. IPYTM seems to be a…
ITSAY is more on visual storytelling so it actually uses symbolism to portray meaning. IPYTM on the other hand is more on metaphorical dialogue. A good example would be the closing of the eyes. It's actually much deeper if only we deconstruct it. It depicts how people adapt on a bad environment.
The stage is the life and the darkness is the bad that covers it. It needs time and patience for you to adjust. In the first close-your-eyes scene, OH Aew completed 10 seconds before opening his eyes and Teh was there. The second time, he only counted up to 3. Teh wasn't there. But that doesn't mean there aren't any other people present.
The reactions regarding IPYTM are funny actually. People are attached to ITSAY so much that they have had trouble adapting to the new tone and mood of the sequel. They kept on comparing, which is understandable because they're totally within a new environment just like the characters; looking back to what was instead of focusing on what is, is normal. You either gonna be Teh who's adapting quickly or Oh-Aew who's unsettled. Don't worry though. I'm sure IPYTM will grow on you.
ITSAY was all at such a high level so we are all excited that this part would stay at that high level or even…
"Even if we forget ITSAY exists this 1st episode would still be forgettable."
It'll be forgettable if you remove ITSAY from the scene because you're literally detaching the build-up done by the first season. The aquarium kiss was impactful because it's a parallelism of the underwater kiss of ITSAY. The same goes for Teh's mother's acceptance which was developed then.
Maybe we have different perspectives, we can't deny the fact that the first episode of IPYTM is actually much stylistic in terms of scriptwriting.
Let's be honest, this is not as good as ITSAY. It's still better than everything else that's not ITSAY, but there…
I think they're on par. While ITSAY is a slow-burn, heavily character-driven, and relies on visual storytelling, IPYTM on the other hand is fastly paced, plot-driven, and verbal— a total contrast— though season 2 uses visual storytelling too. Which is a good characteristics for both seasons since they want to portray changes.
The most visible salient feature of IPYTM is it has its own techniques for its direction. ITSAY usually reminds its audience of CMBYN and Happy Together; IPYTM seems to stand on its own.
While I do agree that the advertisement isn't as subtle as ITSAY. Nonetheless, they have their strengths and weaknesses.
Honestly I agree. We all know that ITSAY 2 is going to deliver (I know I'm jumping the gun here though)Also I…
Aren't critic-scored awards given because of excellence, though? Accolades are literally there as proof of its greatness.
If ATOTS wins in a prestigious award event, we'll be very happy because it received something others could not, which signifies that it's significantly better than others.
We should acknowledge the importance of both popularity-based and jury-based awards. Because, accept it or not, it showcase quality.

Things like that happen but we could never say and point out exactly where.
So, it's still a good experience for filmmakers to be awarded by minor and/or major award-giving bodies) considering their efforts. Imagine having a good portfolio.

People are missing that the series is deliberately attacking the acting industry.

Why did David Day-Lewis never break his Lincoln character?
Robert De Niro became a taxi driver for how many months?
Choi Min Sik eating live octopi even if he is a Buddhist?
Adrian Brody learning piano, selling his house and cars, resulting to breaking up with his gf.
The whole cast of One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest tried living in a psych ward.
Christian Bale lose 62 pounds for The Machinist.
They embody their character even off-cam. Hence, why method acting is dangerous without supervision.
PP lose pounds for his Oh-Aew character. Tor Thanapob tried being on a ward for 6 months to portray autism.
