Prove to us you can write better and create a masterpiece honed by learning from scratch.
How much is your bad taste? And how much did you pay for a hack class with Shonda Rimes? HAHAHAHAHA

So I hope this gives you a clue on what I am, at the very least and stop imagining me to a BL screenplaybwriter trying to compete with Severo, just because I find his writing and his cinematic/televisual sensibilities wanting.

Btw, in my line of work, when you use a website such as moneymax.ph as reference to how you understand social class, you wouldnt be hired.

Well if your imagination can only peg me as a DDS or a Vice Ganda fan, then I don't also know how to respond to…
I wouldnt dream of writing screenplays and getting my bread and butter from it. Altho I respect those who do this for a living, at this point in my career, reverting to the livelihood you imagined me to have would be a big downgrade.

1.a. I said you "fans talk about GSP AS IF it is the best thing that happened to gay liberation movement...". I didnt say you said it but the way you keep on harping about LGBTQIA+++ advocacy of GSP makes it sound so. And those who have differing opinions, you brand immediately as homophobic. I'm not comparing GSP to other Pinoy BL nor of other BLs. Those like you who are attacking me here are the ones making this very faulty connection. Although I must say, only GSP among Pinoy BLs is this vocal about its "advocacy", which the fans ate up, hook, line and sinker. Even though clearly, it hinges on very problematic grounds of cisgenderedness and middle class respectability politics, which a lot of queer intersectional scholars and activists have already pointed out to be problematic and quite damaging to the community in the long run.

2.a. Again, I wouldnt bring up the limits of LGBTQIA++ of GSP if not for fans like you who ACT and TALK as IF GSP is the best thing that happened to gay liberation movement, not only in the Philippines but around the world. And yes, even femme gays are part of cisgendered performance, so yes, read more books. If you think femme gays is the final frontier of our queer struggles, then Im guessing this is how limited your politocs is.

c. Just because you have middle class characters doesnt mean that they cannot transcend their class position, especially for characters like Vlad whose so woke he is so lovely. Except that yes, he was confined just like her ally ate within the constraints of his upper middle class upbringing. Thats why they are so obsessed with coming out, even forcing people like Karl, probinsyano and presumably lower middle class, whose idea of middle class respectability and aspirations, just like his father, hinges on following "straight" temporalities: landing on a dream job to be the MAN that he hopes to be, not his brother. Again Im not expecting the characters, Karl, Vlad and Judit to be so progressive that their vision of the world is so generous as to include eveyone, Im not expecting this in GSP,
at all. Altho im reminded of this flaw every GodDamn time fans like you act as if the lines he throws have just dismantled the heteronormativity of global capital.

2. I wont respond to this as clearly the point flew over your head.

3. My God, you dont know what talking heads are?! EVEN AFTER ATTENDING THE ONLINE MASTER CLASS OF SHONDA RIMES? Hahahahhaha

4. With the way I frame my arguments, do I sound like I work in the biz? Do you think Jadaone and even your God, Severo, think the same way as I do, have the same critical vocabulary? Isnt it obvious what I am and what I do from my languaging and rhetoric? Come on, use your brain! Btw, my body of work is out there, and Ive got my own of audience, and it is not in BL world nor in showbusiness. And yes, im recognized, to some extent, here and outside, but only by my peers, whose validation I seek. They are not just pop culture consumers and certainly not delulu fans like you. But if it comforts you to think that I am competing with Severo, o well... sige na lang.
Goodness! Hope it never happens though. I would never dream of ending up in their line of work. I dont want some brainless hetero producers dictating what I can and cannot write. Good thing I already have tenure and rank these days that the scenario you are hoping for will never happen.

Hahahahahaha! Such a delulu. I have a stable and secured job, and I think I dont have to produce or write screenplays to earn as much as my present salary is already as competitive, if not more. But thats beside the point.

Why? I don't care for GSP Easter Eggs. If I have to OVERREAD the text this way to fully appreciate it, then its not a well-written text after all.

My issue is not that the "making gay" of romcoms, my issue is adapting its most inane formula (that is "profound hugot from self-absorbed middle class characters, who tapped into the class fantasies of mobility and the self-centeredness of its lower middle and middle class target audience) developed by Jadaone and her circle. Which is why I dont care for Jadaone. Now, this becomes problematic when fans like you talk about GSP as if it is the best thing that hapened to the gay liberation movement in the Philippines, and ignoring how millions of other queer lives who cannot identify to the middle class drivel and cisgenderedness of GSP, hinged upon very problematic narcissistic class dynamics of the hugot-Jadaone aesthetic, then perhaps your imagination of queer radical politics is already as limited as your taste. So don't talk to me about being homophobic.

But i wont even go there. Since GSP is still within the elementary realm of representation. So props to them. But later on, they would have to account to and reckon with the much more diverse and complicated queer lives in the neocolony that is the Philippines. And when once they start doing that, I hope fans like you would still be there, enriching the discussion.

But my point it, much of the way Severo tried to radicalize the script is via dialogues. These are all talking heads, putting out queer discourse, and it does not look cute nor compelling in the script. The same way Jadaone heroines mouth life wisdom.
