Where the heck was he self-centered? He literally told Teh to not stay at his place, despite knowing it would make him lonely because he saw how tired Teh was. He told Teh to do the competition even though it meant spending less time together because he saw that Teh wanted to do it. If anything, they're just showing a natural drift between the couple
