I've spent a decade reviewing content for an LGBTQ film festival. I've seen many different kinds of relationships. I've traveled broadly and have an awareness of some of the distinctions that separate various cultures. That is, while raised in the west, I well understand that other cultures have both a different understanding of human behavior and some very alternative ways of communicating their thoughts on the subject.

I was brought up in a small conservative town, so I have seen bullying because of someone's being different and have my own take on what it means to be gay in a variety of circumstances and locations. I'm also good at looking at things from different perspectives, to be able to evaluate how different backgrounds affect perception.
