Hadn't read the book, but I was immediately taken by Sun's character. He's a street rat trying to get by and at the same will do what needs to done to take care of his sick mother and little brother. It's almost Dickensian (18th Century author of serial novels). Something random happens one evening when he's passing out leaflets that leads to a larger story that is not as accidental as it at first appears. Later, when he attempts to become an actor he becomes involved in a much larger web of connections and drama. The recognition by the one who' s been searching for him is entirely accidental, but is pivotal to the karma concept that is woven through the story. Several of the incidents that have major impacts don't provide a direct answer as to how they occurred, but the clues are quite clear if you've been paying attention. I gave it a high grade for the acting, technical effort, and story.
When I asked my AI how well was the show received, the number two source for its audience rating, after imdb, was MDL. The show is very highly rated after only two weeks and has a score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It's the "edge of your seat" episode. Some people aren't used to cliff hangers like this near the end of a drama. I would suggest it does what it's supposed to terms of hightening anxiety going into 13.
I usually stop when the credits roll. I wasn't really paying attention at the end of ep 13 and discovered there was more story. So watch ep 13 through the credits.
