The wigs were a bit annoying. I kept thinking I was watching an anime. It was generally enjoyable and dry rather than sappy which was nice. Bouncy and over thinking vs. reserved but attentive, with a nice amount of tension.
It's pure low budget genre to a purpose. This is so Hammer House I'm practically dying with laughter. Of course it's got a bit of Korean tropes as well.
Apparently "possession dramas" are a thing, so I'm very new to the genre. Having no preconceptions, I enjoyed this very much. It had a two birds with one stone kind of vibe. I'm more than happy to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the show. A lot of the acting was quite admirable. I thought the villains were particularly effective. It wasn't played for jump-out-of-your-seat horror effects, which was refreshing.
I did notice one Japanese clasped hands salute as opposed to the traditional Chinese thumb clasp.
