Buying cloud packages is honestly a very normal thing in the Chinese entertainment industry. It’s super common, friends of actors buy them to show support, and companies do it as part of regular promo strategy. It’s not shady or unusual.
I think the issue in this case was that ZLS liked a post talking about her company buying cloud packages not for her own show, but for another one. A screenshot of her liking and saving that post went viral. And unfortunately, that drama did end up being princess gambit, so it looked kind of bad in hindsight.
I’m not blaming ZLS at all, she has nothing to do with the low rating this show got. It just ended up getting tied into the controversy, that’s all.
Yea haters would make sense but like this hasn’t happened before on any of mzy’s shows or LXY… like 6.9 just means wayyy too many people are giving it a low rating and zls fans would make sense as she is popular. ( not blaming her, I actually like her stuff)
okay I have a theory as to why the rating is low cause plot wise or even the episode wise it doesn't make sense for it to be 6.9, keep in mind im not hating on any ACTORS HERE IM JUST THEORISING AS TO WHY IT THE RATING IS LOW.
Basically Zhao lusi recently liked a post on xiaohongshu which went viral and the post criticised her company Ku for buying cloud package seats for their own dramas ( it happened to be princess gambit this time) but has never once showed support for ZLS previous dramas, therefore im guessing its her fans in a way boycotting this show cause I also saw a tweet of someone being pissed and blurring out this show in anger? just guesses no hate to Zhao lusi she has every right to criticise her company if they're shitty.
