International audience and chinese audience may have different taste.Meng Ziyi isn't popular globally. She is…
Yessss I have been following her and been a big fan since 2020 but because on international platforms people talk a lot of WCR or ZY or other actors and actresses I always assumed they were also popular in mainland China, but when I check their following and how almost all of them had below 10M I was so surprised.
But I’m super happy MZY got an amazing script like blossom which gave her the very much needed exposure, she’s so talented and CAN ACTUALLY ACT.
I’ve been a fan of Meng ziyi since 2020 and have really followed her growth over the years. I was just a little curious about something.
There are quite a few Chinese actors and actresses who I feel get mentioned a lot more on social media these days. I often see their names trending or being talked about when their shows release, and they seem to get a lot of attention online. But when I actually checked their Weibo following recently, I was surprised to find that most of them have significantly fewer followers than Meng ziyi or around the same as her, and to me following cunt on Weibo was the biggest indication on popular an artist is IN CHINA.
So it made me wonder: why does it feel like some of these actors have a much louder or more visible presence on social media, especially around drama promotions and general buzz, even though their follower count is lower (or roughly the same) compared to someone like Meng ziyi?
I always assumed Mengzi wasn’t as popular in CHINA compared to these actors, based on how much more I saw other names being thrown around. But checking Weibo made me realize she actually is pretty popular. So I’m just curious how does that work? Is it about marketing, fan activity, or something else?
The heat index on Tencent Video measures a show’s popularity based on views, engagement, and online buzz. Hitting 25k is a strong indicator of success, especially for a show with only 6 episodes. It means the series is already attracting major attention and audience interest even before the main plot unfolds. This early momentum suggests high potential for the show to become a hit as it progresses. So if it goes on like this eventually it can hit 30 k hopefully but it needs to create a lot of buzz
Ikrrr, hopefully the show breaks 27k heat index this week as a msg to haters
The Tencent heat index is a real-time score that shows how popular a drama or show is. It’s based on views, likes, comments, shares, and how much people are talking about it online.
It matters because a high heat score means the show is trending, the actors get more attention, and it can lead to more roles, sponsorships, and success for everyone involved. Like for eg. Blossom got a 30K heat index which is basically a stamp of approval that this show is a super hittt even prisoner of beauty for 30K heat index

Tysm for explaining as well
