Not all of the love dynamics are intended to be just plain romantic love. There's platonic/friendship/camaraderie layers that are only natural to happen due to the characters situations. They're not all pursuing FL/ML. They just happen to like them. What damage does Master Lee completely platonic love for Kim dojoo make? It adds a fun quirk about his celibacy character, it's endearing, not annoying.

Yul is already a genius, his action scenes are the best, he is an upright, and genuine kind character who actually cares for th ML when he could be a bitter SML. So no, I don't think the writers are reducing him to another guy interested in the FL. If you can't get pass that assumption that's a you problem.

This is a 30 episode story, not 25. The writers want to write romance, if you take all the romance away you can't call it like that. It's fine if you're not entertained by the romance, but I don't think it's on the way of the story progress. The romance is there to show the characters' motivations and personalities. That kind of stuff makes the audience (well, the ones paying attention) see patterns and bond with the characters they relate to. The story is progressing, they're just taking their sweet time to makes enjoy the characters' dynamics. I'm sorry you don't like Yul now, but now you know he is not perfect. That's good!

Your comment is contradictory. You're not reading a manga. You need to understand this is a different media, you can't build a good storytelling with only crucial points. You need to take detours and develop characters to justify their actions. How would you make the audience bond with the charcters if they're always in conflict?
