Probably the melodrama genre is not for you. Last time MDL ratings started lagging this much, Hospital playlist got 9.4 rating (but then started dropping). WCAL has stellar casting and high expectations. It is a good mix of Korean and Japanese melodrama, if you're into both you'd understand.

I'm afraid that's on your preconceived notions. Youngdae is delivering a good ML, his character doesn't require great acting anyways, but he's surprisingly charming in this drama. The FL is a smart independent woman, she's doesn't act motherly, there's a difference. When you're self-sufficient in many aspects in your life, you tend to be the kind of person everyone wants to rely on. Her ex is older than her but he still looks up to her bc she's that smart and reliable. It's not about the age, it's about her life stance.

Thanks to NGNL I've been binging romcom movies and let me tell you, this drama has it all. They really did it, they're delivering a true romcom, the best kind.

Exactly. Some ppl are missing the whole plot bc of their own expectations. This drama is doing a good recycling of romcom plots, unfortunately not everyone can appreciate that.
