Try ‘The Rise of Phoenixes’. The male lead is very smart and cunning and the acting is very good (the ml also happens to be my pfp on here lol). Legend of Fuyao and Stand by me also have smart and tricky mls.

Wow this is really good analysis! Thank you for taking the time to comment this! It was definitely a more subtle romance. I do think it was a good drama. After sitting on it for a while I realized the reason I was disappointed was not because of the show itself but outside factors:
I watched it was because I had just finished rewatching one of my fav shows that involves time and my friend recommended I watch this one. All the reviews here were overwhelmingly positive and I saw a few calling it the best bl, which convinced me to watch it. I’ve watched dramas for so long that I should know by now not to get expectations from reviews and ratings but unfortunately I did. So that + the high of just finishing the other show (which is very long and fleshes out the whole time thing) left me disappointed. Ultimately everyone has different tastes and expectations which can cause two people to love and feel disappointed in the same show.
My expectations were crazy high going in because of all these reviews. It was a good show but I feel disappointed because my expectations were so high. I enjoyed the story and think the whole time loop was really well done. The production was good and the dialogue was okay. The actors did a good job playing their respective roles but I wasn’t really feeling that much chemistry from the main couple. Overall it was a good drama with good rewatch value, but it wasn’t my fav Thai bl.

I decided to watch it because of all the hype and the rave reviews on here. I finished it last night. Overall it was a good drama but I was pretty disappointed because my expectations were so high lol. It was enjoyable and I would watch again but I don’t think it even makes my top 10 for favorite BLs.
