Some of them are actually criticising this show just because some one has already done that. And the reason? To stand out amongst the crowd or just hate on something that is garnering this much attention(sour people). I get people reviewing it bad based on their preferences but criticising the acting? The writing? Even the soundtrack? Hell nah!! Infact these were the things that actually stood out. And you can't convince me in believing the games were bland because as far as blandness is concerned the games were just as good if not better than season 1, maybe the people rating it below 6 are just too attached to season 1 that they can't get the same emotional attachment with different cast, which actually have a better dynamic, let's be real. The ending? Maybe?But since it's going to continue so not a big deal.

this is going to be a good watch, at least i hope so. the teaser is enough to let me know that the chemistry is there between leads, although they are not going to make it obvious about the romance as some of you might expect, but it's going to be very subtle. they can't change the entire plot to remove yuri, so we are going to get some of the scenes that are screaming romance. can't wait for this to air, i didn't like the pyramid game as much so i hope this is good.

what is up with the synopsis. they spoiled the entire show. all i have to wonder about is the 'lurking danger'.

i should have used this same statement when i ended up dropping love next door because the trope was over exploited and the romance couldn't compensate for the dragging of the show after 8 or 9 episodes.Later on, the fans started throwing hands, defending it by saying to not give an opinion/criticism if you don't like something, like come on 'this is a commenting and criticism site, not a fansite'

Agreed with almost everything you said. I can't fathom people bashing over such a good show, and to people rating it below 6, have clearly weird standards(no hate). I also liked season 1 more since it was a completely new experience so in season 2 we were not jaw droppingly surprised over a new concept(tho the show's concept is not a new but, it's still a far better one) but, still there were enough moments where i was pleasantly surprised(like at the end of ep 2 or 3, i don't clearly remember).

Do not ever trust mdl ratings. This drama IS good and people who are comparing both seasons are either bitter or pure hypocrites. If they had changed the entire concept then they would say "this is not what we were looking for", if they had not changed anything then "the drama is so unoriginal". If the drama is same then, obviously the storyline is going to be the same. It has everything a good, in fact a great drama should have, yet the ratings are subpar. Although, I agree it's not as good as season 1 but, it's still a great drama nonetheless, because it was quite impossible to make another 'squid game season 1'.
Ps: It's just my opinion.

An episode without too much leads interaction is not slow. Also, it was the first episode, so plot building was more important.
