I actually just finished watching the show. I can agree with basically everything you said and I wasn't feeling…
And I also wanna point out that I pretty much appreciated your courage to say something other than "totally perfectttt" about a show that is this popular right now. This community is indeed very toxic and the last time I tried to discuss about something very disturbing in a BL drama I had to read that "even if it was a rape, so what?" and see people bashing me for using common sense.
I actually just finished watching the show. I can agree with basically everything you said and I wasn't feeling anything from the main characters at all BUT I have to point out that the ending was actually decent. Kiyoi was really seen as this untouchable king back then but at the end we can see how uncomfortable he was being this king and how he not only sees himself as just an ordinary guy but also want to be seen in this way. I don't know, I wish he could be with someone who could cherish him for the human being he is or that Hira can come to his senses and stop being so into his own pitty self and open his eyes to reality. I can even agree with one of Kiyoi lines about Hira being arrogant. I enjoyed the drama overall, I don't hate it and I see there's actually something they did try to come across be wasn't able to fully accomplish that. I think they tried to pass the message that beauty fades and even those "untouchable" people are people at the end of the day. I don't know... I just enjoyed the show .. but I can definitely understand your review and see there's a lot of things in that that just make sense.
But anyways, although I'm not Mame's biggest fan, I don't think she's dumb. They clearly did this to test the waters for maybe a season2 or a whole series for the secondary couple. But to be honest, to have a good plot, we need the characters being in a conflict and I don't think Fiat and Leo in a conflict would match to the story do far, they are very confident in each other. And as for Leon and Pobpham, I don't think they would be able to carry a whole series. I don't even think Fiat and Leo's story was something for a 12 episodes series and maybe that's why we got so many unnecessary steamy scenes lol. I won't say I don't like steamy scenes, but enough is enough, some of them didn't add anything to the plot at all. I may be wrong because I didn't read Leo and Fiat's novel and I also don't know if Pob and Leon have a whole novel just for the two of them or they have enough story in Leo and Fiat's novel, but I doubt they have as much going on as Tin and Can in the LBC novel. I hope I'm wrong, really.
I watched it thinking that we would finally see a closure for Pobpham and Leon but... I'm honestly disappointed. I know don't say no was about Leo and Fiat but we got the same over and over again. In my opinion, this special episode the way it is was just unnecessary... I hope we get a season for Leon and Pobpham.
I didn't have high expectations but, tbh, I'm loving it! Can't wait for season 2. btw, Pak looks so different from the cupid coach! I almost didn't recognize him lol
I don't think i'm watching the same drama people were talking... I'm enjoying it a lot and it was not too bromanced lol it's censored? yes, definetly... but we can clearly see the guys liking each other...
Sad that sometimes even good actors can't save a weak plot. I really like Eui Soo and was excited to see him again as a main character of a BL series, so I feel a little bit disappointed :/
This movie is cute, simple and touching. The chemistry between the couple is on point and they made me want to have a healthy relationship lol. TaeHo is jut too cute for my heart to handle, he's now in my heart next to GiTae from Long time no see lol. Anyways, prepare yourself to smile a lot if you gonna watch it.
(I was wondering why YongMin made me go like "hmm i think i know this guy" and i just found out he is HanBit from My Pistachio lol I just love the Strongberryverse hahah)
Dropped this after 4 minutes... As some people have pointed out there is a creepy pedophilic undertone to this...…
lol where I live, the guy would be in jail for taking advantage of someone who is not in a mental state to consent. I cannot understand how people can watch it and be okay with that
