You misunderstood it. The main female lead Chang Yu is never being poor in the drama. She is a butcher but she…
Omg thanks for explaining! Usually cdramas use dubbing in their dramas - so what we hear in the drama is not the original voice used in the actual footage captured at the scene but it’s a separate recoding of just the actors voice. They do this most of the time. I hate that I can notice it. You will be able to notice it if you usually watch shows that don’t use dubbing (that me)
Well then stick to your kdrama cause what you're hating exist in basically all Cdrama
I am honestly on a hunt for cdramas that don’t heavily use voiceovers and I have some that I am planning to start soon. So no I am not a cdrama hater. I just hate the voice over stuff they do
i have to agree with this "In some dramas, issues have arisen such as excessive makeup on actors, and certain costumes, makeup, or props being disconnected from character personalities and story settings" because why tf did i see someone have a full makeup on when they are supposed to be a poor orphan? Also an obvious full foundation face on a warrior is crazy. They need to hire makeup artists that give more realistic looks to the actresses/actors
As far as most people familiar with both Kdramas and Cdramas are concerned Pursuit of Jade, just like pretty much…
Did I say the makeup was bad? I said the full beat makeup used on a poor orphan girl makes no damn sense. It would make alot of sense if she was someone of status. A lighter makeup look would have made her role more believable. Also the cinematography was amazing I just hate how they do voice-overs because I can tell it is a voice-over most of the time and it is so obvious.
It was very unrealistic how the main female lead had obvious full makeup on which did not make her status of being an orphan and supposedly poor believable (made this observation in the first few episodes of watching). It would have been more realistic if they gave her lighter makeup to make her face look as natural as possible. I am usually a kdrama watcher and honestly the lighter makeup looks they use for historicial dramas made it so believable to me. Also the obvious voice-overs in these kinda dramas just ruins it for me I really hope they stop with the voice-overs it really sounds unnatural alot of the time. Still planning to give it a chance though because the cinematography is amazing.
Why is PMY getting so much hate for her looks? Why do some of you people act like you have a right to tell her…
The character she plays has an eating disorder tbh so it kinda makes sense for her to look this skinny in this role. I hope that she is finally taking care of herself now that the filming for this drama is over
