You can't really blame him. Yuan's priority is always his Ge and when it comes to him, he loses all sense of logic. His focus that point in time was to make sure Le Ge never contacts Qian so I kinda understand his intention. There's literally no bl out there without a shortcoming. At episode 9, the great acting is still there, the well-made features are still there, there's literally nothing disappointing about this series. I personally think you've missed the plot because from the beginning, we've been made to understand that the show literally revolves around Wei Zhiyuan and his Ge. The Gangstar plot has been genre because we literally saw how WQ got involved with those guys and how WZY witnessed the brutality of it all. You think that if an opportunity to make sure his Ge never gets found by Le Ge presents himself that WZY will not seize it?
I literally thought you were serious until you mentioned that there is no tension, I don't think we are even watching the same series at this point. And also, this series was adapted from a novel, a dark novel with minimal romance. If there's no romance in the series, that means that they are staying through to the adaptation and as fans of the novel, there's nothing happier than that.
It's okay to not find it interesting anymore most especially if you're someone that is big on the romance side but please, don't ruin the mood for us.
(If there's anything disappointing about this series it's the fact that I have to wait 7 whole days for an episode that feels like 3 minutes😭 )
