FX and Wan’er are not cousins since Wan’er’s mother isn’t technically related to the emperor (FX’s biological dad) by blood. I think it was explain in one of the episodes that that Princess Royal and the emperor were not related by blood so we don’t have to worry about that (I don’t remember which episodes but I’ll update this again since I’m going to rewatch this amazing drama again.
