I really can't imagine what would cause Shi De to do that to Shu Yi. If not something Shu Yi's dad did, what could…
I never said that Shi De’s love is based only on physical attraction.. I am saying that he is insecure..he cannot believe that his feelings were reciprocated..he even tells that to Shu Yi when he they are sitting on the couch..
He persevered and was in love for 10 years ..during this time he had complete control of the situation..he tells that loving you is my issue not yours in episode 5..
So all I am saying is that Shi de didn’t plan for a relationship as he believed that it’s always going to be one - sided love..
Synopsis of season 2 just explains the setting .. it’s a corporate setting where Shu Yi is acquiring the company…
My theory is based on the fact that Shi De himself says multiple times until episode 5 that he just wants to be friends with Shu Yi until graduation.. Shu Yi’s confession is unexpected .. Shi De doubts the confession first by talking about Shu Yi ‘s first love and then accepts him in the heat of the moment..and if you remember the couch scene .. he once again tell Shu Yi that he finds it hard to believe that his feelings were actually reciprocated.. Shi de ‘s personality has several layers .. his attraction and love for Shu Yi is strong but at the same time he is also extremely logical .. there is a constant battle between his mind and his heart and he wants to control every aspect ..he naturally assumes that whatever he does is the best course of action for Shu Yi..
Also about Shu Yi forgetting Shi De ..I didn’t mean that in the literal sense .. it’s almost like saying if you don’t care for me then I won’t care too ( I got this part from roughly translated S2 synopsis on Instagram post )
I really can't imagine what would cause Shi De to do that to Shu Yi. If not something Shu Yi's dad did, what could…
Shi De was abandoned by his dad during childhood..so he clearly has trust issues ..when Shu Yi confessed his love , shi de got carried away by attraction and passion but after going to the US he might have thought about their relationship logically..he thinks Shu Yi ‘s feelings might be a rebound thing and won’t last for long .. so he decided it’s better to bail than to get dumped !
SamYu mentioned recently in their live that Shi De has a dark side whereas with Shu Yi you get what you see . I am so excited to see the dark side of Shi De , we got a glimpse in season 1 when he manipulated Shu Yi by locking themselves up inside the health clinic .. I know most of us turned a blind eye but that was actually a very bad thing to do despite the reasoning that Shi De gave ..so I guess Season 2 will showcase more of his controlling personality..
New synopsis for s2, but I didn't quite understand. But here it is:https://twitter.com/Koilicious/status/1361178547809890304
Synopsis of season 2 just explains the setting .. it’s a corporate setting where Shu Yi is acquiring the company that Shi De is representing.. it looks like Shi De came down to Taiwan only to ensure smooth transition during the merger .. My opinion is that Yi also has no idea why Shi De ghosted him for all those years and his pride has made him forget but not forgive Shi De ..however he ends up with a golden opportunity now since he is the acquirer and has the upper hand .. I think it will be fun to watch .. Shi De trying to protect the employees and Shu Yi making things intentionally difficult because he is so angry at Shi De.. and regarding their break up after reading so many theories, I guess Shi de single handedly decided it’s better to stay apart than together because Shu Yi being a part of his life was never in his original plan and he is someone who sticks to the plan!
That is definitely an interesting take on it and I appreciate this theory. I don't think Shi De lost interest…
I really like your analysis .. however I wish the screenwriter does something different .. Parents opposing was already used in her old BL Obsessed ..it’s kind of outdated.. since Taiwan is now forward enough to allow same sex marriages ..I just wish to see something unexpected
I have one more explanation regarding the slap..this is based on something I witnessed in real life and a highly unlikely situation when it comes to drama but still wanted to share
I had a friend who pinned after a guy for several years and finally one day her love was reciprocated and they started the relationship..few months later my friend had completely lost interest in the guy and when I asked the reason she was like she is sort or bored after achieving what she thought was impossible..so I felt that some people view relationships or people as challenges that they need to win over ...
Can you imagine their love scenes in s2? Because I can't ;P
Their passion reminds of Brokeback mountain kisses !! Most BL s have over the top love scenes which seems unnatural or highly awkward love scene where leads are not comfortable..but with SamYu the balance is perfect !
Theories on S2 1. Parental pressure 2. Amnesia 3. Life threatening disease 4.Misunderstandings about affairs 5. Trust issues ( not believing in love) 6.Choosing career over love 7.Fear of not being accepted in society
