tbh i don't know what to say about this drama. it's bad but tolerable at the same time like ! i almost dropped it at ep 1 because the ML acted like he had 8th grade syndrome. thankfully the rest of the show is much more serious. i stayed because 1. yoo seung ho 2. the cult case was quite interesting. (too bad it only lasts for a few episodes or so. i thought it was the overarching theme of the show.)
this drama likes to add new characters in almost every episode. the suspect list just keeps getting longer. at one point i couldn't keep up with the new names anymore 💀
towards the last few episodes it felt very messy and it felt like even the writers themselves had no idea who the main antagonist was lol....
i only watched till the end for the final reveal but honestly it's not that shocking/impactful despite all the (unnecessary) buildup. the main plot is basically the ML/FL suspecting this guy and then they're wrong and then they suspect someone else and then they're wrong and the cycle continues. i genuinely thought it could be wrapped up in 10 episodes or so. also, there are some plotholes here and there so i suggest not taking this drama too seriously. in particular, the decisions made by the ML/FL really make you rip out your hair sometimes. like visiting a hideout alone? seriously?
agree with what the other comments are saying. i watched this for park haesoo but ehh dropped it after a few episodes. plot is really slow and i felt very bored. i usually enjoy watching thrillers especially by ocn! i guess this one was not for me.
as a mystery fan i really really enjoyed this show!! i hope there's a season 2! the cast were really funny and i found the history of the cases to be very interesting as well.
he's one of my favourite actors and he's really incredibly talented. like what the other comments have said, i don't understand what's with SK's huge deal with drug use as compared to SA. he needs rehabilitation and medical help, not jail. i really hope he comes back to acting one day. :(
i think some episodes got boring kinda quickly because they're just doing the same thing for an entire hour. nonetheless, the cast themselves are very entertaining and funny (as expected!!) ^^
personally i liked season 4 even more than season 3 !! probably because we already saw all the members before and i didn't need more time to get to know their play styles and characters.
omg i just finished it and i can definitely see why people say it's the best season!! the chemistry between the contestants is just so good! it was much more tense between the season 2 members.
this is easily the worst season out of all the genius seasons... no spoilers but there were a lot of manipulation and cheating involved which just left a very bad taste in my mouth. betrayals are most definitely allowed in the genius but i feel like it should be kept within the rules of the game. some players seriously took it too far. i almost dropped this halfway because it seemed very obvious who the winner was going to be. the caliber of the players in s2 can't really match up to s1 too. i felt like some players only survived for multiple rounds solely because someone in their team carried them or through luck.
the only game i actually enjoyed watching was probably indian hold'em.
