i also watched this after devil's plan and university war but to be honest i couldnt fully appreciate the first…
unrelated to the game and gameplay but i really disliked kim gura's character. he seemed very rude and felt like a sore loser when he kept putting down his opponents after losing. he's quite arrogant and egoistic and it does come back to bite him later lmao... i enjoyed the show much more after his elimination. i was not surprised in the slightest when i googled his name and a lot of controversial articles popped up.

i wasn't a fan of some of the death matches like the rock paper scissors winning streak one and tactical yutnori. the winning streak one was almost 100% dependent on how many people the players could rally together so it ended up feeling like a vote-off. i think it was quite a shame that the game wasn't based more on their skills.
tactical yutnori seemed like a good game to play except that it wasn't fun to watch as a non-korean viewer who has little to no understanding of how to play yutnori. i literally had to open wikipedia on another tab just so i could understand the 5 different throws in yutnori. but this game definitely had more mindgames and strategy going on which i liked.
i also watched this after devil's plan and university war but to be honest i couldnt fully appreciate the first few episodes as there were too many people for me to keep track and it was more politics based rather than skill based. however, the last few episodes were definitely much more exciting to watch and imo i think the winner really deserved their win!!
hmm i think it was a good movie but i wished they properly explained things like the japanese and korean mythology because it seemed very closely connected to the oni. i will leave a link in my reply for those that have already watched the movie and want a better understanding of it.
like what the other comments have said, it might have been better for this to be a longer series so that they have more time to provide the context and backstory before delving into the main plot (exorcising the demon). it would have been nice if the characters were properly fleshed out too. overall i think tiktok raised my expectations a little too high so yeah.
some parts felt a little boring this season but i agree that the final 4 were much more well-rounded compared to last season. i wished they incorporated more individual games and games that tested other areas too tbh. overall a very pleasant watch over the weekend :)
not a fan of the antagonist this time but loved the games as per usual
the games were fun but the antagonist definitely wasn't. he was just using violence to get his way with everything instead of thinking of strategies or clever ways to cheat (like what the characters usually do).
my advice is to watch the anime if you're going to watch the liveaction. i can definitely understand why some people might be weirded out by how crazy the characters seem but it's really because they stayed true to the source material. if you've seen the anime/manga, you would know that they're pretty much gamble-sexual lol
my point is: just don't go into a live-action thinking it's like another drama and then wonder why everything is overly dramatic. if you don't like the first episode then this show is not for you... just my two cents.
This show was AMAZING 👏 I really enjoyed the storyline and the acting was top notch!! And like Soo Ji, I too…
i interpreted the stepping on the shoe as something more metaphorical. like everyone is below Harin and that she (literally and figuratively) tramples on all of them. the grandma reading the bible just seemed like hypocrite behaviour.
