Unfortunately I had to drop it, Park Han Byul was annoying as hell. The 'cute but dumb' thing is really too much, I just wanted to punch her in the face. I don't know if this is indicative of her acting skills or just the character she was playing. Also did not like the doctor. I did like the original actress before the surgery ( more vein and a stunning beauty ) and the bad husband :-)
"Dumb and dumber" which of the 2 is which? (I've only watched Hunger games but from all the conversations I've had I think Squid game gets the "dumber" title). Both very fittingly dystopian to nowadays society. I guess people love this shit so much that they decided to make their lifes just as . /sarcasm
True, not B&W , I guess time will tell but Netflix will push Korean film companies aside, only a matter of time. I don't have a crystal ball but I will give it only a few years for Netflix to totally dominate the k-drama market (if they're not there already).
I did say their economy gets whatever from filming (actors, crews, suppliers, etc). Afterwards the money the drama generates go somewhere else and that's the bulk of it, don't kid yourself.
Financially Koreans are shooting themselves in the foot by allowing this and culturally they are dilluting their identity little by little. Netflix produces dramas for the world not for Korea hence they will "adjust" certain things for more "western" appeal
Korean cast & crew gets paid, after drama is released all the money go to the US, so Korea benefits very little financially. Netflix will take over the market, Korean companies will go down (can't compete with a giant). Same with young koreans prefering iphone over samsung, ship the money outside the country ( Samsung is 40% of their economy and Korea pension funds are heavily invested in samsung too, if Samsung drops even a bit - what will happen to their economy). This is just financial aspect, plus the other stuff you speak in another comment. There's a current against this in Korea too.
I voted Shin Hye Sun, glad I've discovered her thanks to Mr.Queen. I have started watching some of her old stuff, stunning actress, both for acting and beauty.
Had no idea she was cancelled. Even more reason to cheer for her. Just to piss off PC morons brigade. I finally get to watch her as I couldn't watch "It's ok..." because of the male lead, can't stand him.
We were just past halfway and had to drop it. Really good but mentally consuming and honestly I don't need anything extra on my plate. If you can watch the whole thing - it's worth it. Requires lots of attention
Very sad. Suicide really is a plague for Korea. They have more or less the lowest birthrate and highest suicide rate of all the developed countries, the future doesn't bode well for them (or Japan for that matter). The government hiding the reasons will solve nothing. As long as they have this highly competitive society in every aspect- this will not stop. I have visited Korea (and hope that somehow I can live there at least for a period of time) and have korean friends both there and here in Canada and we had many conversations on the topic. May God rest her soul ๐
The cutest of all korean actresses, her perfect babyface is incredible ๐ Also a very talented actress, I'm sure she broke many hearts among co-workers when filming ๐
People are not capable of discerning between right/wrong, smart/stupid and so on. They are just mindless consumers. Of everything, entertainment including.
