I don't think there's any precedence to that, Even Wu Zhetian became an empress because her son was the emperor I believe. But again, the Emperor was quite progressive.

Regarding "eldest son", I confirmed with my mom that doesn't mean we know the gender of the second child. So FangShi could have a daughter.

I believe they can only have one in a lifetime. I think it's mentioned in the show. However, it's unfair the Fangs can be a baixi for more than 1 emperor.

I heard "the eldest son 长子 zhangzi" part but my mom didn't pay attention so she didn't catch it. So I was right. Does it mean the second child could be a daughter who is FJM and Haishi's daughter? Doesn't baixi only pass to male? Or 长子 only refer to if the other child is also a son?

Yes,it is his and Tilan. Yeah, the writing for this couple could have been much better. His abuse was just brushed aside so quickly and Tilan was too forgiving
