I am not that sad for the divorce course it was apparent it's heading that way, either a divorce or separation. Who's wrong and who's right. Communication is the biggest culprit here. You can't really blame ML for his actions he thought he had found his love. He saw that something was off. He promised her this and that but.... He let his wife do what she wanted. He was grateful and thankful to his wife for healing him but his biggest blow was to learn about the decree more importantly from his wife infront of the court and to learn that his wife was paying a debt, even the strong willed can have a lapse of judgement.
FL is helluva pity. Suffered such a blow of losing her mo m and beloved maid at a young age and moreover to loose her masters on the mountain and living alone. Going through such ordeal and continue with life you have to be strong (even ML brother from the dafeng when he thought his family was going to be executed wanted to hang himself). Her family made a mistake which led to the deaths of ML brother. Girl had to live with that guilt and a promise so when she married him she had a chance to help him and also doing her investigation of what happened would be easier. Totally different aspects. The guy opened up and had nothing to hide. At least she could have told him before presenting the edict. She's also a victim but couldn't she discuss with him.
Maybe bad decision, they could have filmed the actor alone and pasted like thee movie Madea is like. Where an actor has different roles but appear together at the same time even much better when there's no action.
