I couldn't agree more. Although the acting is better here than the first season, I think they made too many episodes…
Exactly, the episodes got too dry especially between when they come out of the ocean tomb and when they enter the next tomb (forgot its name). They were mostly just chitchatting about basic stuff. It’s my first time watching it. Still on episode 21. Hope it gets a bit more exciting.
So far, I am liking the first season better. Although the cast is doing a great job, here are my issues: 1. Wang Pang Zi is just annoying. His character is not funny. I did enjoy season 1's WPZ more as he also looked goofy. But this in this season, WPZ looks more serious and can honestly do an antagonist role if needed. 2. There are so many episodes that we don't even see Zhang Qiling. 3. A lot of the portion of the show is not even an adventure, but just them going around doing small stuff and getting into fights. That leads to my next issue of there being too many dialogues and very less action/adventure. 4. Too many flashbacks. It gets repetitive and annoying. 5. This is just a personal preference: I would've loved if there were more in-water scenes. The ones which we got were not so good. In the scuba gear, we don't even know who's who. Plus the water was too green to see anything clearly.
will this season answer the unanswered questions from season 1? Like who is Ming's boss, why were they after the snake-browed copper fish? Who exactly is Zhang Qi Ling? etc...
10 mins in and already love this more than the first one. Not that first one was bad, it was in fact a beautiful movie, but the cast has outdone themselves in this movie.
I agree with people that the movie deals with a lot of topics but doesn't completely resolve them, but I think this is a very realistic movie. I can see a person who doesn't have any other source of money pursuing prostitution. It isn't a "think too much while watching" type movie but a ''light-heart, but make sure ur parents slash kids are not around" kind of movie.
I am reading comments about someone who is a rapist, can someone please explain if there is a sexual harassment scene in the show or something happened in real life?
The actors did a great job on their part, but at points I felt the story was too stretched out. Even at the last scene of the last episode, I skipped through most of it because there were way too many unnecessary dialogues. The story is nothing new, but if you are looking for a short series to binge in one go, you can give it a try.
Okay, to be completely honest, what started as a movie solely about BDSM and sex turned out to be a beautiful story by the end. I may not agree with the choices the characters make, but for some reason they still make sense for me.
Am I the only one who wants to see the blooper reel for this movie? For some reason I keep imagining that the actors start laughing in between takes and just can't control themselves. No? Just me? Alright.
I loved the kiss, but still what I found the most romantic was KSJ waiting for HJW at the door. That was so pure…
True, plus his smile while he was running.... aaah,,, i can finally die in peace now. I really wanted them to end up together from the very beginning when KSJ had an egg dish made by HJW.
This drama is so beautifully written. The actors do a great job on their end. The way "The Effect" deals with such a sensitive issue is praise worthy. Nothing felt over the top. The choices each character make in the drama makes sense. It is a must watch if you don't mind something dark and nerve-wrecking. At the end of the first episode, I thought it is going to be a typical BL with A liking B but C liking A and doing something unethical to get A's attention, but I was mind blown to which extent the show was taken to. Also I should mention that Shin's friends were my favourite. They are there beside Shin during all his ups and downs. People around them may talk shit about Shin but his friends are there to support him and even fight for him. Beautifully written and must watch.
People who are talking about paedophilia, I understand why that may make you mad but I think in this case, I believe that it works just like how it worked in Call Me By Your Name
This movie deserves way more love and appreciation than it got. I understand why people may hate on it as of the second half. Ngl, if he was a guy again, it would've been perfect. Anyway, this movie is absolutely beautiful. Definitely recommended.
