I would have to disagree you line where yj is the only party trying to make their rl work. Tbh their relationship as lovers wouldn't have started if xzy did not take the initiative. After the whole ruckus, xzy was trying to communicate with yj but yj did not want to listen and did not want to talk. Yes, yj does not truly know her, and he does not truly like her, if not why would he be saying the words where he likes alcohol so easily. He was also physically abused by the dad and xzy even more. He should know that that is her trauma but he chose to unveil the pain all over again. Tbh he is scary, making everyone know that he likes her, making everyone think he can do everything for her. In reality, he crushes her hopes and sides with others. Who knows, he might become like his dad...

Since young xzy has been changing fathers and eating wonton all her life (yes they are all wonton restaurant owners lol), that is one of the reasons why she doesn't like to eat wonton. That line "I like to drink alcohol" is just not it. She took her whole life to finally get past that horrible childhood. That one line just sends her back to the horrendous childhood she had experienced.
The friend asks yj why he likes xzy, but his answer isn't answering the question, only stating her life throughout since he met her... I think he is living in a state of self deception. Before marriage, he said he will always be good to her After marriage, he is just giving her the silent treatment. Yet, she is still holding on to the ring he gave her, while he is thinking about another person.
For a promise that she made to jh, she ultimately stays with tengyue when she could have gone with aneda which she was originally from. She doesn't show her true feelings easily and people won't know it easily but it would be safe to say that she is a person who keeps her words.
Xiang zhaoyang's journey has been a bumpy ride, but she has only relied on herself to get to where she is, and that is what she takes the most pride in. She has never harmed anyone, only to be harmed by everyone.
what if, right from the very start, the pairing is Xu Si with himself, becoming the best investor of all time, Jiang Hu with Yang Jian, overcoming all the hurdles together and Xiang Zhaoyang with Gao Yi, childhood crush to lovers, would it all have been better like that lol

idk but the whole marriage thing seemed so forced... I get that if xzy doesn't take the initiative, yj will always be on the passive side and they would never be together even if their siblingship is not platonic but there should be a better way to keep their "loveline" going other than the marriage plot
