Fun fact while waiting for drama to air: they used 3 years to refine the script and change some aspects from the original novel.

Fun fact 2: the second half of the novel consists of journey to the west (JTTW) elements such as sun wukong and the main leads are inspired from side characters (kui mu lang and Bai hua xiu(QiPa)) from JTTW! (They most probably will not film the JTTW part as it kinda side tracks)

Fun fact 3: in the second half of the novel, FL and ML will have 2 kids (which I doubt will include this part)

The only link is that princess Qipa is their daughter from go princess go, which makes her character have a more modern thinking due to the education from her mum, Zhang pengpeng, who time travelled. (I saw a picture of qi sheng, her dad, appearing in this drama so there might be some references here and there)
This drama would be a whole new story by itself! So you can go ahead to watch this drama next year without watching the prequel! (Hope this helps)

This synopsis is similar to the one in baidu and the translation now in MDL is also just the first paragraph of the Chinese synopsis.

They actually officially concluded the filming on 28 of September, the male lead wrapped on the 26, while the female lead and 2nd female lead wrapped on 28.

Based on the novel, I'm guessing the first few eps will be FL trying all sorts of methods to escape and ML always managing to bring her back
