It seems like this novel was written 10 years ago so the setting might be 2012ish (we’re still not sure if they will tweak it to be 2022) but the school life would most probably be the 2000s.

I believe it’s still in modern day context, just that there will be some school elements to show how they all met. (I’m not too sure so do correct me if I’m wrong)
