It felt refreshing after a while because this felt as a truly mature story. Yes there were cringe moments but…
Honestly I can't remember those moments much but if they did they happened during the episodes where the ML is in highschool-university period, where the women around the ML are wowed by his skills. An example was whenever the ML was showing off his grappling skills. Honestly when I first watched it felt like LJG was redoing his role as Lawless Lawyer. Once he got his career going, honestly don't remember anything else cringy since the drama as a whole wasnt for me. Mind you I had read the webtoon/manhua of AML, which I found a little boring so I had some bias against the drama. Unfortunate that AML spent too much of the story displaying the ML's development from child.
As you mentioned RR is more mature, which I definitely agree. They managed to skip those moments by having the university setting minimal (or felt that way). Comparison wise, I found RR is like that next generation product that is better by smoothing out the rough edges of the previous product (AML).
Still give AML a try, it just wasnt for me. Either way I think both dramas are inflated due the popularity of the ML's but story and its execuation, RR comes out on top.
Both ML and his wife made poor decisions in their marriage but this has turned into choosing who is lessor of 2 evils, with the ML coming out on top as the obvious better choice to root for. Enjoyed this for the first half, then it dampened in the 2nd half..

My original reaction to them as a couple was ok, I guess we're going for this, then as it went on, I came to fully accept it, and how their relationship ending was tasteful with what they had..
Secondly I couldnt help but make comparison to "Again my Life" despite different professions, but I agree that Reborn rich definitely had much fewer cringe moments of showing off the ML's superiority in something like intelligence (It's appealing in manhwa/webtoons/light novels but not in live-action dramas). If you read the webtoon/manhua, I was anticipating me cringing when he was gonna buy his university class the most expensive laptops to giveaway BUT I'm glad that DID NOT happen. And that it maitained this way consistent to the end..
For time ravel/reincarnation drama I thought this was quite good, and I found the ending very passable. People may find it unsatisfying as DJ and SMY never gets their happy ending, but honestly the ending made a lot of sense, that our mc should live as his original self, and not ruin/reopen past wounds. Special mention goes to Mo Hyun Min, she really had that chemisty with DJ, that I was kinda rooted for them even thought it was 99.9% unlikely. She was a fox..
God I hate love triangles but the 2nd ML seems kinda like a doormat (as in too nice) after the first episode, hopefully theres more fight in him later on..
It would have been nice to have an older actress to reduce the age gap a little bit. Usually I would say the ML should be younger, but a well experienced and slightly older actor is better in this case. I'm definitely still gonna watch this as I enjoyed the original greatly..
To be honest, I wasn't really hear for the story, just wanted to see the pairing of one of my favorites leads, BUT the story was quite good that it captured my curiousity to finish it. What a great pairing, they played off each other well and felt natural chemistry. An unexpected but welcome pairing, and I hope to see them again in a more positive romantic series. Was hoping we got to see a future scene where the FL and ML restart their lives with each other, but overal it was good!
Usually its okay to make assumptions like the review above but in this case they were wrong. Unfortunate that literally 2 episodes after they dropped it the webdramas tell u the reason why he left, it was not due to family opposition. Almost dropped it myself b/c of the review above but after the reveal I just finished it. Simple watch not much body to the story but its average for these kinds. Good couple and the rating is fair. Reason he left is my reply if you wanted to know...
Alright I'm down for a sequal to mysterious love, glad its sticking to the same format of 16 episodes. That means theres plenty of time to tell a good story without having too much filler as 32/40 episodes would have..
Despite a celebrity/average character romance type of drama, I'm glad they emphasized each of their problems as it made it more realisitc and human. I liked it overall and it was a nice change.
I'm a romance kind of guy, but even with just the 2 episodes it was done beautifully. Unfortunate how everything was wrapped up in the last episode, due to the shortening of episodes. It had flaws but overall was still decent.
