Finally rewatched this after dropping it a few years ago. Just as confusing as I remember but I managed to slug through it with the help of reading the episode recap at the same time.
Plot progression and writing was well written. Great casting, especially the 1st and 2nd male leads, they didn't look too boyish for their character. The leads plus supporting characters were all visually pleasing and had the looks to be main leads in their own dramas. 1st and 2nd couples had their own flare and resulted in no couple being more interesting than the other. Despite the possessiveness of male lead, which was bad but not as bad as in other dramas, how the female lead acted counteracted this and was pleasing. Props to child's acting and the enjoyable friendships between characters. Flashback scenes can be iffy but the placements and timings were well done. Only things that felt awkward were some of the forced kisses. This was pleasant to watch without skipping but you have to realise that there are scenes before the intro so make you sure you dont just skip to after the intro sequence to watch.
Almost dropped it due to the boring 1st few episodes since I don't really care about the plot during the historical parts. Besides that I thought it was cute and enjoyable series.
Just finished and thoroughly enjoyed it despite being under the law genre. Plenty of action to compliment, progression of story felt pretty smooth and not forced. Loved the antagonists as much as the protagonists.
