Honestly I liked the series, it's way different than Gameboys which I think is not a bad thing. You can't expect Pearl Next Door to be exactly the same as GB since Pearl's character is completely different than Cairo's and Gavreel's (Pearl seems more mature when it comes to love, that's why she is always helping them right and she also said it herself that she didn't struggle with identity crisis unlike Cairo), so just try to be open minded and don't expect it to be as fluffy and cute as GB. I think the whole series focuses more on Pearl herself where GL is just a side story/theme if u know what i mean. And I honestly think that to follow up with the parent story of Gameboys it's good to know Pearl's background and realise that she can't always be perfect and see how fragile she could be. So to all the gameboys fans, like I mentioned before, this series is about our girl Pearl and not the boys, so please give our girl a chance.

I have seen a lot of BLs but never seen such a realistic one like Gameboys. From the simple yet relatable well written plot to the amazing performance the actors delivered, I am just speechless. This series just touches a person’s heart and I am so glad I have found this series and got to witness this masterpiece. I look forward for season 2
