Hi, but I want to clarify that we shouldn't use the word "copy" tho. i feel like each kdrama or cdrama have their own uniqueness and the storyline is also completely different. So, the word "copy" does not match with it. I just want to let everyone know that Hanfu and Hanbok are not the same and that Hanbok have long tradition and modernization and so do Hanfu. I do not want anyone to dirty our culture in both Korean and Chinese by saying either one of them copied each other. It is not tolerable for anyone to disgrace our culture.

However, nowadays the hanboks are now 개량한복 (search it up). I mean Korea did not just have one hanbok; hanbok evolved throughout the dynasties. It has different styles and its own uniqueness throughout each dynasties, and now hanbok is also evolving in the 21st century, too. The ones that they are wearing don't really look like Hanfu or Chinese clothings it just looks more of the hanboks that modernized throughout.

I really love how the director portrays the characters through the colors of the hanboks. In the beginning, the queen dowager and YJ wore pastel showing that they were innocent and pure. However, in the middle YJ wore dark color hanboks when she decides to be the queen. Then now she wears pastel as she sides with Tae, but now the queen dowager wears dark colors as she tries to kill park gyewon and YJ.
