Wow got chills with the last scene of today's episode. When she revealed that she was the daughter of Yoo to Counselor Park. This drama is so different from other sageuk dramas where in the other ones kings want to put their loved ones in the palace in order to protect them, but this one is literally the opposite!!! which is why it's very thrilling and so fun.

hmm I get you but I also get Deokim. She could've left and pursued her freedom, but she chose not to because she loved the man and wanted to be with the man she loved that she was willing to give up the life that guaranteed freedom. Even though she was not a slave but a palace maid she still had the freedom of going outside and hanging out with her friends; however, as she became a concubine she was restricted from her old life of being with her friends due to the status difference and also because concubines are not able to go outside since they are the "king's woman" they cannot go out of the palace. That is why she waved at herself as a last goodbye to her friends because she knows that she can no longer be with them as in the past. Like, imagine not being able to hang out with your friends because you decided to choose a different life. Yes, living as a concubine in the palace may be great, but also not so great. Not only that reason but because her lover is a king this means she has to share her husband with the queen and other concubines. And I bet no couple would like this and Deokim too also just wanted to be a normal couple who can only love each other. As such, when she was pregnant the San could not go to her but had to go to the queen who was not able to conceive a child so he went to the queen to comfort her rather than going to Deokim first to congratulate her. Deokim knew this and many times she tried to run away from San because she was not confident, but she also was not confident in giving up San because she loved him too much. This is why it was so unfortunate as both couples loved each other very much but because of their fate of being a king and a palace maid led to these unfortunate events, and the saddest part is that this was an actual historical event that happened. In real life, actual Deokim rejected the King making him wait for many years, and finally, she said yes, but this happiness did not last as her first child and second child (son and daughter) both died, and she too also died while she was 9-10 months pregnant. However, Jeongjo had to carry on and meet another concubine to carry the royal line. This story is beautiful yet cruel.
