a series brimming with potential but ultimately completely mishandled. I know the production team was swapped out just before filming commenced AND that the filming/post-production process was extremely rushed on a tight schedule, but how could so many of the choices made about this show be this bad??? it's truly a wonder. Not to mention that the bl plot and the crime plot were so tonally and visually dissonant, it felt like two different shows mashed together. What a disappointment....

Also, not all shows need to be sex heavy or whatever but JadeKamin's romance plot was too light and sweet for the nature of this show. (I can thoroughly enjoy a light, sweet and stupid romcom bl but that's not what this series should be) The same show that goes into graphic detail of abuse, SA and murder, but seems afraid of bringing that maturity to the BL plot. It's even more confusing knowing that JoongDunk are more than capable on delivering said maturity. From the choices on screen to seeing glimpses of the direction happening in the behind the scenes videos, I can only assume the production team are incapable of dealing with serious, adult gay characters. I might be jumping to conclusions, but it does feel like the production team in fact looks down upon BL and queer storytelling. It felt almost like "here's your slop fangirls, this is what you wanted right?" which if true, is extremely degrading.

Anyways, this series has left a poor taste in my mouth with odd directorial choices, significant plot holes, and the unfulfilled promise of a better show.

all the puzzles pieces of this series were really compelling however they aren't fitting together, making the overall picture fractured and murky. i commend boc for taking a risk on a very ambitious project, its shame it all doesnt quite gel (especially the trin/tanwa storyline). Peter Derly as Victor was a truly remarkable screen debut and I'm looking forward to his future works.
