James and Bella's characters are great and loving their dynamic and chemistry. I wish they have more screen time. However, I feel like each episode is just dragging on gun issue, former ex, pirate, and attacking Aek. It feels like a lot happen and yet not really. It's been filled with repetitive plots. Trying not to get frustrated but Pra Saming needs to have more faith in his "friend," Aek. Khun Aek has been targeted all this time since he's in charge of the deal with the guns - like c'mom Pra Saming that should be a red flag! I just don’t see him very worthy of being the Governor's son at this point. Bella's character has been the brains so far, always saving Aek and stopping the worse from happening.
I'm excited for this! As much as I love Yaya as a person, her roles tend to be more on the serious side with some sort of complex or dramatic storyline. I've been waiting for her to do something comedy wise like this, as she is such a fun person in real life. Mark is a perfect pairing.
Sooo, just watched ep 4 and I am a little confused. How did the ml figure out that the fl was telling the truth…
Because he was watching from the window when they confronted her by the pool. Watch it again. It even shows him watching from the window. That's why he knew to buy her a phone.
I've been skipping Baralee's scenes since episode 3. Her character can be irritating and kind of pointless to the overall plot when you see how each of the other 5 main characters and the members of the spy team are involved. I am also fast forwarding her mom's parts. I was hoping her mom was going to be tied into the drug in a flashback or something, given they revealed she was an officer at the beginning and they focus on her current self so much. Was she part of the original force that tried to take down the drug dealing and leaders? If not, she should've stayed in the background just like the other parents. Also, I just don't see the chemistry with Baralee and Thi. I tried to wait it out and see if it will develop but after watching all episodes so far, I'm not sold on them as a couple. "Lipgloss Spy" just doesn't seem like an appropriate title, but I felt it was named that to revolve around Baralee. Let's be honest, Baralee helped with two disguises and they were all basic - her makeup skills is only suitable for being a beauty influencer. In reality, this lakorn is more about Thi's revenge and the injustice of other family members (his spy team). I wish dramalist will let us change the synopsis - it's not even close to the actual plot. All in all, Korn and Fon is the only couple that I am invested in and I lowkey shipped Saruta to be Thi's love interest lol.
Ep 1: Lee is ott and annoying. Phueng is not bad, she and Phop can be a fun couple to watch. I will wait for Fon…
I agree with you on Lee. Finished Ep 2 and can't stand her and how she just makes assumptions on her own when it comes to Thiraphat. Even though I know her make up skill will come into play, I feel her story is interrupting the flow of the plot and it should be its own lakorn.
Really painful to watch Gla and khim being victimised left n right in epi 6. Especially Gla. My prediction is…
Agree! I do not feel bad for Khim one bit; she basically brought it upon herself too. Then again, it goes with who she is supposed to be at this stage. Ep 6 was frustrating, talk about backstabbing to another level, from Kla and Khim's side. I feel for Kla and his family, goes to show the reality and struggle of being poor vs rich.
Does anyone else not like Te's character or is it just me? I kind of wish Paul was the ML. He has got to be the worse cop I've seen so far, just impulsive, unreasonable, and aggressive for no real reason. I got annoyed every time Dao tried to tell him she wasn't the ghost haunting everyone and he'll continue to insist without hearing her out. This is supposed to be a cop. He just lost his pregnant wife and suddenly falls in love with Dao and keeps persisting with her when she has a fiance. Te and Dao's romance was unconvincing. Honestly, I want to know more of Ked's story and her death.
This drama seems to be more about the scheming of Khun Dao, Petch's idiot self and gambling ways, May/Mek's secret life, and Thip's obsession. Not even half way in and I was already fast forwarding their parts. The dad is spineless and weak. Jan's aunt is worthless and just as annoying as the rest - so glad Sichon is a shareholder. I feel these support characters and their plots take up more than half of the episode and it can become so messy. Wish there was more screen time with Jan, Sichon and the vineyard.
Jan's character thus far is meh. She is as useless as the others and there is no real wow factor to her. I wish the writer actually have her play an active role in her own family business or something. All of sudden they have a launch of her designs. Where did this come from? I'm just watching it to say that I finished it, but it's not one I would recommend. I do like the love/kiss scenes and the dynamic between Sichon, Jom and Tungpaeng. When Sichon is not associated or around Jan, he's actually pretty great lol. She triggers him and he goes all crazy and illogical.
Got to episode 8 and I'm dropping it. This drama is the definition of toxicity - toxic behaviors, relationships, family, and friendship. The ML's dimples are cute and all but that's not enough to keep me going. All the parents suck, and from the comments, Pol and Pan will follow that too. A lot of the problems will be resolved if the characters just speak up and have a backbone. FL is made out to be this good and hardworking woman, who is passionate about music, but she is essentially weak. I understand how Tam is hurt by Pan, but at the same time he is too much with his love for her, so I don't blame FL not confiding in her. Don't even get me started on Nit and the mom...
I finished watching the drama and edited the synopsis but it is waiting on approval. In the meantime, read below.
Suea Phaya's spirit (Tiger King) is a secret of the tribal people. When summoned, the moon would turn red and the person who inherited Suea Phaya's spirit would turn into a tiger to protect the forest and wild animals. Traditionally, the spirit was passed down from father to son. However, the previous chief was stabbed by an enchanted dagger that was fatal to Suea Phaya. He was unable to pass Suea Phaya's spirit to his son (Nontha), as he was not yet born. To prevent Suea Phaya from dying altogether, the previous chief passed it down to Sama, the son of the local doctor who was attending his wound.
For 20 years, Sama and the tribal people were unaware that Suea Phaya was in Sama. When Nontha was of age, a ceremony revealed this. This becomes the first time that Suea Phaya lived within an outsider. Unable to change this, the tribal people and Sama work together to protect the secret from outsiders.
Sama grew up and took on his father's practice, becoming the new local doctor. But, due to the duties of being Suea Phaya, he ended up living a lonely life with many despairs. Parichart is a teacher from the city who has come to teach at the local school. Sama and Parichart soon falls in love but their love jeopardizes the secret and the safety of everyone involved.
I finished episode 11 and at this point I'm just hanging on to see all the bad people get their karma and for…
I don't even feel there is much of a romance storyline after his identity reveal to 11 - more seems to focus on Taywan's plotting, Patty, and Yod, Su, and Siam meeting up here and there to update but no real plan.
1. Khun Wanadee - Usually I can tolerate the moms in lakorns but I cannot with Khun Wan. She just stays home and yells, which usually starts with her once again believing Khun Yupa and Taywan with the gossip, throwing a fit with her husband about Ratana, and then chaos among the family, to die down, then repeat. I just fast forward her parts. I understand that she got cheated on, but at the same time she is bringing some of it on herself that I no longer sympathized. After all that she has went through and put her daughter through with her own behaviors and pain, I can't believe she would suggest the FL to get back with Taywan after he cheated on her and the dad asking Taywan to take care of his daughter! Here she is saying Khun Sek's family are evil blah blah blah but she has no shame showing up at the company to slap Ratana or cause a scene. I also skip Khun Yupa and her gossiping - this woman works harder at that than her job. I'm not even sure what she really does there. Too much screen time on Khun Yupa showing up; I can't wait for her to die (I saw the teasers).
2. FL - It just seems like the writer wanted her to be this strong and logical woman but not really, as if they couldn't make up their mind. Yes, she can stand on her own two feet and is direct when she wants to. She has her own charm, especially around P'Ding. I was a bit disappointed when she said she will be calm and listen to P'Ding whenever he has to tell her something he has been hiding from her. Then she flips around and does the opposite after finding out who he is and leaves him. From there, she is just annoying to watch and there is not much character growth. There will be scenes were you will go "ok, maybe has it in her" as she was able to question how Khun Sek knew they were visiting the hospital when only 4 people were involve in that conversation. However, she is quick to dismiss everyone who tells her Taywan is evil. Later, after the dad got admitted to the hospital, she mentioned how all these bad things happen when things were getting good. And then it stops there. Maybe we are to assume she is up to something secretly? I am also not a fan that she gives Taywan a second chance even though she loves Siam. I just don't see that as a "strong woman" characteristic. The idea that she is doing that to get close and get info isn't convincing at all because A. She has had two of her friends and Siam warned her and she refuses to listen and B. When she was in a relationship with Taywan and her friend was telling her about him cheating, she didn't fully explore that either. Sure she asked for advice and question herself and his behaviors and he pair of heels, but then she'll end up siding with him or leaving it alone for the time being until something else happens. It was Jaidee who took actions to expose him and came the closes. She only found out because of Alice intentionally instigating it. I think Jeed is just more stubborn than anything and is someone who needs to see it herself to believe it.
3. ML - I feel ML has the most facial expressions when he was P'Ding and with his sister - those are the times where he smiles the most, is more playful, and softens up. He is calm, patient, a good listener and advisor, and uses his head. He and Yod is supposedly making a case against Taywan but hardly anything is shown on that progress (unless this is similar to the case of the FL where we are left to assume they have a plan and it isn't reveal to us AT ALL). He will just be like "I can't tell you more." He told P'Yod and Su everything and they just believe, so at least that is refreshing (much appreciated). It's getting to the point where I wish the writer will just have him tell Jeed and her family off by saying "I'm tired of warning you guys, you'll just have to experience it yourself. Good luck. I'm going to focus on my dad's company and his health," and leave them alone as he gathers evidence lol.
4. Khun Sek - I feel bad for him in the sense that he hasn't done any of those horrible things to his friend but is experiencing their spite and suffered from a stroke due to it. However, I do think he is getting his karma with Patty. But, I don't think it's to the point where he deserves to be poison and die a pitiful death. It kind of sucks because he truly loved Patty to the point of excusing his own children even though she is after his money. I feel he is more afraid of being alone than being loved by her.
5. Su - She is my favorite character! I admire that she works and furthers her education, is actually mature, doesn't only depend and spends her father's money, is the most logical, observant, intuitive, and consistent character in this whole drama. Su is honest and speaks her mind, but also respectful towards her father and brother. She talks more about worrying for her dad's health and Patty's ill intentions than the actual inheritance, which is also refreshing to see. I really think Su's character outshines the FL and I'm more excited about the 2nd lead's romance.
PROS: The supporting cast really helped make this drama more watchable. I like Yod, Su, Channon (the friend who owns the coffee shop), Jaidee, Ratana, and Khun Jed's workers and drivers at the house. Siam just lights up when he is around them and you see another side of him. I wish they had more screen time. The sibling relationship between Siam and Su is also one of the better aspect of this drama (and when you compare it to several lakorns). They have an age appropriate sibling relationship and he makes it known he cares for his sister and doesn't hide things from her for too long or make worthless excuses. The trust between them is the most absolute and consistent one in this whole drama. My heart melted in episode 11 when Siam asked Su why she has such a pessimistic view on guys and she pretty much said it was due to how their father was but she trust Siam and he is an exception. Awwww!
I also love Yod and how he is respectful of Jeed even though she doesn't love him. He doesn't push it but knows how to still be a friend to her. I also like that Siam doesn't return to Patty, shuts down her advances, and doesn't trust her. Yod and Siam develops a friendship too and it's a loveable and mature one, as we all know Yod will be the future brother in law lol. I like that Siam can see his sister likes Yod but doesn't push it on her to talk or pursue it. I also like the the pace of the romance between FL and ML as it was gradual and more natural (he didn't fall in love with her right after Patty and she first considers him as her friend).
CONS: If I had to sum up this lakorn so far, it'll be "cheating, gossiping, and trust issues in all the wrong ways, topped with inconsistencies in character development." Honestly, this is the first lakorn I've watched with this much cheating...that it should just be name "Cheating & Gossip Girl." Taywan and Patty is so manipulative and cunning to the point of I'm tired of watching them get their ways ALL THE TIME for this many episodes. People easily believe them even though Taywan will be standing there with smirks but is quick to excuse Siam. But, again, people like them really do exist in the world and Siam is a bit on the passive side pursuing Taywan. I got to episode 11 and finally Siam said he has a plan, which it is reveal he is hiring a detective (hopefully more is revealed later on). When he is finally committed to telling Khun Jed in episode 11, it is interrupted with Khun Wan and her craziness. I feel a slap-kiss lakorn makes more progress than Siam lol.
This drama is "watchable" but it isn't a drama I'll highly recommend nor watch again. I wish I wouldn't have started it and is not impressed in some of the character development and plot lines. I feel the drama is being dragged out with Khun Wan's insecurities about her husband cheating and Patty and Taywan's cheating and manipulation. Because I'm waiting on English subs from Neko, I saw the teasers on YouTube and it seems like Jeed and Siam will have more romantic scenes and work together to take down Taywan.
I finished episode 11 and at this point I'm just hanging on to see all the bad people get their karma and for some characters to realize how foolish they were. The plot line eventually becomes the same repetitive plot, but different episode and scenario. I found it frustrating and contradicting and honestly would have been ok if it ended at 16. Read below for a more in depth spoiler.
Watched up to Ep. 3. I hope the FL's character and personality change, really don't care for her so far. At this point, I find her to be rude and immature. I did not find her "pranks" to be funny. Dragging him under water and then kicking him is not cool, nor cute, nor a characteristic of a strong woman/FL. He hit his head, was bleeding, and went unconscious. She didn't even apologize or own up to it. Her parents practically brushed it off too. I don't blame him that he doesn't have the best impression of the country and its people. I am not excusing his behavior too but at the same time, I don't think the FL has done anything admirable that is deserving of praise.
The sister and mom is annoying to me and so naive it's to the point of frustration. Their characters are just weak. I only like the dad from the ML's family, and do wonder how he ended up marrying someone like her. However, he is part to blame for the upbringing of his children.
I'm trying to like this but can't seem to bring myself onboard with the character and plot development. Hopefully, it gets better, might just stick with it to see how the ML evolves.
Jan's character thus far is meh. She is as useless as the others and there is no real wow factor to her.
