My tears dropped when seeing Tomoe waiting for his return. Absolutely heart-wrenching drama about poor samurai who contented with what he had. Can't help seeing its resemblance with Harakiri (1962). Maybe it got inspired by some of it.

Good read, some well researched too. In my country Indonesia, middle school only wear blue shorts and white shirts all country with some variation on days in week. While high school wear grey trousers and white shirts. I find diversity in other Asian countries to be more colorful and fun. Cheers!

How did the letters end up to her bag? Am I missing sth in the movie? I think Orange means the sky in New Year dusk

First watched it in 2005 still remain good as of today. So many memorable scene. Won't regret watching it again.

The whole movie is, but The Hand segment just about right 56 min

too long, not very subtle.
