This is better than pursuit of jade. Special the fight scenes. So far both so show failed to make me cry but this…
i've watched a fair amount of shows, from tvb, to kdrama to cdrama to jdrama... pursuit of jade is special one... it spellbounds the audience...sure, no crying warranted but it was captivating... the director and production team did a great job and casting was amazing. the FL and ML had amazing chemistry, and beautiful. sorry it didnt make you cry
Another ruined Jin Yong adaptation. The director/producers are trying to be cute and played around with what worked.
Casting: awful Fighting: awful awful Music and sound: 3x awful
Personally, Jin Yong’s novels adaptations (the good ones) have always stroke deep at ones inner most desire to root for the characters, because they are who we wanted to be.
Seeing the growth of the characters and wanting to woot for. The prerequisite is to make the audience like the main characters through images and sound. After 1.2 eps, I'm not convinced that will happen.
This adaptation was so bad that after grinding through 15 eps, I had to go back and rewatch the HXM remake to cleanse my image of WXB. the main problem IMO was that it was RUSHED. one of the main attractions/draws of the WXB character was that coming of age feel that the viewers crave. Most importantly, character development is TERRIBLE. They failed to create that attractive character that viewers can cheer for. This version started WXB as an adult and portrayed him negatively: a scumbag and coward that is witty and who gets lucky. Previous adaptations masked WXB's cowardice acts and made him someone we could cheer for...and guess what, I'm watching for entertainment, so entertain me.
