I don't think the show can accept a rape to lovers narrative so of course they will reposition it but they want us the audience to think YJ is more evil than he is. Showing the parents their child being touched, seemingly unwillingly is bizarre. I don't like this writer generally as the characters tend towards really weird toxic traits but it will be interesting how they unravel it and get us to cheer for the couple. Thus far I'm fine if they don't end up together and we've got a ways to go.

It had a lot of potential so I overlooked some of the story holes early on and directing. But casting brothers for Near and Jeno threw a lot of us for the first few episodes. Poor casting decision.

Maybe as I'm coming off the back of Lovely Writer I'm struggling with the production level, script, casting and sound. So I'll drop it for now. I'm not really rooting for any of the couples and that's 2 episodes in. The step brother story is probably the least poorly cast. Oh well!

I don't think he did until he saved him from the Director and even then he was hardly gushy. He worked to different moral code and that missing an exam hit hard. But yes, I hate the bully to lover narrative that is all too common in BLs. They just got away with it in MODC but from stalker / jealous attacker to lover / love coach? This is a real stretch

I was being sarcastic about MODC as I just can't fathom how it's the same person! Can't wait for MODC 2 though. I think it's brave that they're trying a comedy but maybe this would have worked better with a shorter season like a History 2 length not 20 episodes
