OG Sec Kim is a cornerstone drama for many KDrama fans especially those of us who were into it pre pandemic. This should have built on that legacy and it didn't unfortunately.
It really did have potential but, like a lot of series, it suffers from that 'let's bring in new writers to shake it up' syndrome . So annoying as an adaptation shouldn't have to veer too far from the OG so should be less problematic
the writers went too rogue on the characters for me. Like, Sir Underlip is not a redeemable character in the SK version and we all accepted that but in this one you had a villainous looking actor delivering lines where we are meant to forgive him??!? Still a no from me. And I didn't like the mum in this one anymore than I did the first but here they made her seem like a lovable princess who just loves her son so much!
As for Brandon, they made him more awkward than he needed to be. I struggled to find him sexy. Hard to compete with Park Seo Joon but, yeah hard to make the love work at times. He steps up when they get physical though ;)
but remember there were more failed attempts due to VC's trauma based issues so it's worth watching (on speed) to get through to that bit. See? This is why one shouldn't spoiler :D :D
Yeah that's what happened to all of us. It's different when you are watching it 3 times a week and only for 29 minutes at a time though
Initially there were only meant to be 30 odd episodes but then they increased it to 42 and finally 40. It never really flowed the same. I also didn't like some of the additions. Like her family added very little and the extra romantic partners didn't do anything for me. So I say watch it on speed and get through this to the good parts ;)
If you want to get some of the romantic and emotional nuance of this series then best watch on VIKI as the others have butchered the subtitles in places and it feels so much flatter. Just a hint!
i waited for it to end... so how was it?? does it have any good story or chemistry?? many heart fluttering moments??…
watch it on speed if you're not up for a very slow burn and very dark shots . Chemistry is good and there are some really heartfelt moments and good acting from Main Couple
