Maybe because at this time they were not in love, maybe because it is not the right time to have light kisses
Wu Bi (Like Gu Hai) was always into Su Yu (Bai Luo Yin) earlier. As this adaptation has taken a more love story approach then we can assume that Su Yu only fell for Wu Bi later and this ties in with later kisses . In ep 11 Su Yu was still thinking about that girl so...
I'm not saying that the kisses weren't strategically placed later but I think that fits in with the story better anyway. Let's see when the uncensored version comes out if there is a confession at least?

Yeah this is why a lot of people side eye intl fans - the dense cultural and socio political lens.
I'd never heard of Matt Healy or the band but he's got priors so I don't believe Malaysia was done without his knowledge of how this would end
"In August 2019, Healy was banned from Dubai after displaying a pride flag and kissing a male fan onstage to protest Dubai's anti-LGBT laws, an act that was punishable by ten years in prison. In a subsequent interview, he reflected that he "felt pretty irresponsible" but ultimately dismissed it. In 2023, Healy as well as the rest of the 1975 were banned from Malaysia and forced by the authorities to prematurely end their performance at the Good Vibes Festival after he criticised the country's widespread anti-LGBT laws and kissed fellow band mate Ross MacDonald on stage."

Season 2 has been confirmed, uncut version too. They did a great job on this adaptation and it's given us hope
