Just finished this and I am honestly quiet happy with it. It's the not best show ever, but absolutely not the worst. It's rather good, to be honest, although not that good to the point that I become emotionally attached to it (the way I did to the untamed lol). It's fun, it passed. If there's a season 2 i'll watch. If not, i'll accept the ending as it is.
The story is simple and easy-to-watch because there's not too much things to read between the lines. Everything is frankly said/explained by the characters through the dialogue, so it's very easy to follow. I like the visuals and comedy aspects too.
The vfx is good, costume design is awesome, the cgi is also tolerable. If there are two things to be disappointed about is the music and the fighting scenes.
It seems like the original story in anime/novel is even more complex so i get the disappointment. I see that it is aired in public tv, so i guess it is targeted toward the general public and that's why they intentionally try to simplify it. Meanwhile, the anime is targeted toward the die-hard fanbase, so it follows the novel more.
