I only started watching Ch Dramas recently since 2019(?) i think. so i catch up only the latest one. If i have time, ill be sure to check on your recommendations. same here! i love historical too. their outfits, their foods, their settings,, tho ppl usually avoid because of poor CGI and dubbing but that doesnt really distract me from watching historical drama as long as it is not too much too obvious XD I just love Love & Redemption. I just love it. I shall title it as Best Historical Long Run Drama of 2020. at least fr me. XD How should I say this, umm. usually when it comes to good drama for me, its because i usually watch it without any expectation. I started watching L&R without knowing the leads, just watch it to fill my free time. and the synopsis seems promising. and im hooked. i cant stop watching it. the strong urge to know what happens next and how i stay up until 3 to 4 am tho tomorrow is my working day. Thats how L&R impacted my life. watching L&R drama is like if you stop watching the eps, you might be afraid to start it back, because once you start, you cant stop, and after you manage to stop, you will be reluctantly to start the ep back because you know how hard it is to stop. thats how impressive L&R for me. the L&R drama is like the perfect drama yet of what I ever hope to happen in drama. I watch other historical drama before and i sometimes fast fwd few eps if it becomes too draggy or with the plots of losing memories(which i hate the most) and i still manage to know what happens in latest ep tho i skip few eps. I didnt do that to L&R, thats how big deal L&R for me. but it differs to each people. im afraid i might get your hope high while watching this drama. it really depends on each people. :)

Hahahaha, dont say that, you're not. I dont have the patience too but you are my destiny is that good that they got me hooked, made me wait every week, well actually you are my destiny is the first and last ch drama i ever watch while theyre on air. I dont usually watch ongoing drama but you are my destiny is an exception, i kinda stumble on the drama because of friends recommendation and end up waiting for it every week. For me watching ongoing drama is a big deal because i dont usually do it. I always let them finish first only then I start watching them :)

I think Do you like Brahms is either hit or miss too. It got major BIG MISUNDERSTANDING repeatedly, and you might get sick of it. more or less like unrequited love, just its not unrequited XD plus classical music. it's about how a girl likes something but shes not good at it, I was expecting something frm the FL, but director scriptwriter pdnim just confirmed thats not it. watching her like that really 답답해 >< Opps. Haha. thats it, not gonna spoil more. ;) Let me know if you do watch it

Im not sure if you have heard of Korean adaptation You Are My Destiny; have you watched it? I watch all countries vers and I like chinese vers the most. tho many didnt agree with it. lol. the storyline got me emotional. like you like him but you cant be with him because it reminded you of bad things, thts hurt. both of them were hurt. sorry got too deep into it. XD Both leads are really good! their acting; their chemistry even the ost, i like it alot. that drama gives me hope that there are other good dramas like this one. :)

Same here! I start many dramas at one time and if the first 3eps did not catch my attention, ill drop it. my usual requirement, 3eps or nah.. but if the dramas is promising, i usually continue watching it.

Yess I finished watching Tiger&Rose and Its okay to not be Okay, Really good dramas i must say. I even repeat watching Tiger&Rose. Thats how much I love it XD, tho the editing is really poor but the storyline is really refreshing. The chemistry between leads is good too.
Unfortunately I havent watch The Wolf, heard the reviews of how good that drama is. Adding it in my list. Gonna watch it later. :)

Ohoh I know both taiwanese dramas you mentioned. Wanting to watch Back to 1989 because of Marcus Chang, havent start it yet too. The triad princess, since its on netflix, easy access.. i did watch first ep, but its not engaging much for me, its the usual strong character of fl and the popular ml. I should give it a chance XD

Currently watching A Girl Like Me, so far still like it and next in list probably Go go Squid 2. Have you watch Someday or One day / Lost Romance? Both are taiwanese dramas and for me these are really good. Honestly im making this mdl acc just to vent on how unsatistied i am with Unrequited Love 2021 ending and glad im not the only one XD

quite agree with you. Unrequited series are so underrated. probably because its not everyones genre. Most ppl prefer light, comedy and romance while this series much more to slow mellow and complicated storyline(?) but i like it anyway :)

yess omg so truee. they didnt focus much on 2019 Wenrui while they put some focus / storyline on her in this version. i had a really good laugh during Wenruis part. The part she literally in dazed when huainan picks up her pen and when she keeps on chasing huainan. really a scene stealer. XD

this is really just my opinion, i feel that 2019 vers using veteran actors and actress while 2021 vers feels like theyre using someone new (amateur) in industry.
even the storyline the plot and how storyline of 2019 unfolds give diff vibe compare to 2021 vers. 2019 vers is like cable tv while 2021 vers more like web drama. not sure if its because of the pd or scriptwriter.
however, the leads for 2021 is really cuteeee. i reallyy like them both, i mean i do like both verss both leads. tho 2021 lacks a lot but i still like it. i love the character of strong independence woman, okay, i just like these series. there i said it XD

Yesssss, exactly. everything was too rush. i like how 2019 luo zhi keeps everything to herself and how strong she is and when huainan accused her of being fake, the part she got sick and the next next day she was like im better than this and literally move on. the new 2021 omits few memorable moments like the part luozhi and her new friend join mystery(?) and we can just see the growth in their relationship. 2021 dont have that. really disappointing i must say.

Very well explained review. Unrequited Love 2019 is my fav drama of all time. I have watched both vers and obviously 2019 vers is the winner here. the 2021 vers are just too rush, lack explanation, abrupt ending. I dont even know why they have to do remake. the 2019 already perfect. smh. The 2021 characters does seems immature i couldnt agree more, but i quite didnt agree with the image they forced onto 2019 luo zhi, She sometimes gives off creeps image and i dont like it. Especially during the flashback. Glad its not happen all the time. A part that i like is in 2019 vers is when luo zhis cousin come visit her and huainan just get jealous and interupt them. but the one in 2021 .. not sure its because of poor editing or something, it is just ... missing something..
