My exact thoughts!!! The trope I hate soooo much in dramas is characters trying to drink their problems away in…
Yet, drinking away problems is a sad reality. But people also drink when they are happy/celebrating too. I am not sure if drinking can be a trope, as it is a part of life in Korea. Like eating food in kdramas, I have never seen so many people eating food on screen.
Edit: Trope - A significant or recurrent theme. Yes, Drinking on screen to celebrate or to drown sorrows, is definitely a trope in this Drama.
Unexpectedly poignant, while inspired by American college movies, carries its own message of responsibility, inspired by asian culture. The movie deals with real topics such as sex, consent & abortions while trying to provide it with some levity and not be a total bore while dealing mature themes.
I can see why Ha Ji Won accepted this role as the film is NOT an all thrills and no frills. It has some substance. Although its heavily leans towards portraying men's sexual desires, It also pays attention to the female perspective and desires.
Overall, the movie is different to its American counterparts, and I say it is all the better for it. So far, it stands the test of time for me. Although it depicts an encounter around consent, or rather the lack of it. It is not shown to condone it, nor does it provide an obvious conclusion. However, its better that the film portrays such an incident and others as these are faced in reality.
Cool poster, shit show, had potential as bad guys were doing awful stuff, but this and other plot points are not properly developed with plenty of plot holes. Otherwise had potenial, but sadly did not execute it.
Also, not sure why it has such high rating on here
What the shit was that, give those actors something better to work with. The ending action scene was was so rubbish, like something teenage Youtubers made. The story never develops, watching 3 episodes is enough to get what's going on, and you can skip through that also.
It says the genre is Action, Thiller & Mystery. Not much action considering he is an Assassin, also typical kdrama bait, they have big budget for the 1/2 eps and then shoestring for the remaining series.
Thriller - I didnt experience any, waiting the whole series for something significant plot development, but it happens in the final ep.
Mystery - Bad guys doing bad shit (organ harvesting, genetic modification - but this is not properly developed, just merely mentioned here and there), where is the mystery? We pretty much know who are the bad guys, but the bad guys are bad at being a badass.
If anything, this was more of emotional, victim support group type drama, where the main characters share their stories of suffering and the ML is trying to regain his memories. (Although he doesn't seem to have forgotten much, he just didnt know what happened cos he was not there.)
Not recommended, but if you really want to watch, try EP1, Ep 6 or 7 or 8 (dont matter) and ep 12. You can skip and don't sweat if you don't understand the names, details not that important. You just need to know M.L, F.L. both orphans run by main bad guy (who has adopted the FL) and seems to be the dad of the ML, but this major plot point is not properly developed.
Is everybody here to watch IU? I am, but, I dont know why I like her stuff, but only in film & drama. I dont really listen to her music. Can anybody explain why I have IU fever?
Well i disagree with you on the point of categorizing this series as serial killers, although they did kill a…
Yes, I understand what you are saying Serial killer=/=hitman. I was just trying to say killing is killing, its just as heinous whether its by hitman/seral killer.
I think I just felt bad how morally corrupt (murder/blackmail etc) all the characters were and How thoroughly I enjoyed the show because of it. This fact made me question mine & wider audiences' morality.
E.g. They murdered a van full of people incl. a child & the FL dad was murdered but the sow still flows from this darkness to comedy, flirting. I enjoyed this change of pace, but felt guilty in after thought.
lol I differ to your opinion, I tried his previous works and didnt hooked me not even by episode 3 or 4, this…
I wasn't aware of the writer, but have seen his other works. He seems to write his male lead characters with eunuch like qualities/situations. Chief Kim, Vincenzo, Fiery Priest, Good Doctor
Not trying to insult or insinuate. Just an observation as to how his leads are different to the norm and from reality(imo).
Everybody thinks this is a Rom/Com with some Action & Law drama. WRONGGGG.
This is a story about Serial Killers. Its a Horror(***)/Crime drama with some comedy and bad romance even worse who dunn(sic) it Mystery. The Genre tags shoud read: Horror, Serial Killers+++, Crime, Law, Romance, Comedy, Thriller/Mystery
*** Horror - Slasher type and not Supernatural. Thin more like Saw rather than Final Destination +++ Serial Killers - Not sure if this is a Genre tag, but it totally should be. Notice 'KillerS' plural, who doesn't want more than 1 serial killer in their dramas. (Flower of Evil, Memoir of a Murderer)
Now that frame is set, Here is My Review of Vincenzo:
A true masterpiece of people giving in to their killing urges and not even trying to justify they have a conscience.
If you ever want to watch a show that effortlessly flows from cold blooded murder, revenge to comedy and romance for 16 episodes without blinking an eye/missing a beat; this is the Godfather.
If you ever want to watch a Suave international criminal mastermind/hitman with a law degree but struggle to confess his feelings; this is THE sh*t.
This is why I love Kdrama. lol

Rating: Overall 8.5 Story 9 - Considering its about Serial Killers disguised as a Rom/Com/Action..pure genius Production 6 - They could have stepped up the Rom in Rom/Com Acting 8 - Serial Killers blending into society as normal functioning people, totally had me fooled. They were only glitchy during the Rom part. OST 6 - Did its job but nothing memorable Visual FX 5 - Meh
I think a lot of people missed the point of this drama. It tried to show how the truth can be subjective, especially when it is retold in the court.
Notice how the main crimes are always imagined as to what happened, not as fact through a flashback showing exactly what happened. The show is expanding on the point "It's not what you know, but what you can prove in court".
I did appreciate that the drama tried to tackle subjectiveness and truth through a 16eps drama while keeping it comical so as to keep the audience interested. It worked on me.
However, I feel the script wasted a lot of time in the latter part of the series, it did not draw many conclusions other than who & why they did it. Spoiler, it was the bad guys, they did it for money.
They could have focused on the different approaches to law of the male lead, 2nd male led and female lead, really drawing on their differences and making it obvious to the audience. The win at all cost mentality, the righteous mentality and the 2nd male lead caught between the 2 principles, eventually abandoning his principle and even the the truth to defeat the male lead.
There are many other points, but I will stop here. I am writing this in the comments and not in the review section to open a dialogue and hear other opinion rather than just posting my review as the final view . Also, hope any ensuing comments helps the undecided viewer.

Con - Great chemistry between leads, perhaps should have gotten more development.
